TX TX - Alan White, 55, seen leaving LA Fitness, found deceased, Dallas, 22 Oct 2020 #4

I certainly don’t mean to blame the victim, but there are two odd things that happened.
1. Alan seemed to linger around the gas station. Not what you’d expect if he was in a hurry for a work meeting. But then he had extra time as his workout was cut short.
2. The family was vocal until the car was found. Then radio silence.
Both these made me think self harm. But if the cause of death is accurate and it is homicide then I think those close to him know things we don’t.

I think he lingered at the gas station because he was meeting up with someone. Maybe purchasing something (which wasn't a big deal, IMO), but when the car was found, they realized it might be foul play. That he wouldn't have voluntarily left the car that way and on that day.

And everyone went quiet so that LE could quietly investigate. Just my theory.

Wow...just wow. My FOIA request came through (mods, this is now public info available online via muckrock so I believe I am able to share freely as it is not behind a paywall or otherwise) and while I dont have access to the complete autopsy report, his COD is homicidal violence. This is a homicide case.
Thank you so much for doing this! It is certainly what I’ve thought all along. I appreciate your persistence.
So we have an early bird criminal. Such as early gym goers….

Amateur opinion and speculation only
Or a super late night rager?
@itsdev raises the possibility of a meeting.

Towards his meet up possibility, that gas station is on the frontier between two worlds. Poetics aside, to the west and north lay increasing gentrified areas and mega large medical complexes. Here, Dallas Police, Hospital Police and high end private security are common.

But.... going south of the gas station on Maple, the gentrification stops and the scene quickly drops to "iffy at best", then to "down right dangerous" at the public housing complex.

In short, an vendor of illicit goods or uhmm..... "services" may view the gentrified areas as too risky for exchanges given the police and security. Likewise, a potential buyer from the gentrified world may well find areas south on Maple too risky in regards to crime for exchanges.

So..... as a country song goes: "You start walking your way and I"ll start waking mine. We"ll meet in the middle." - Well, at the frontier gas station with bad, but not dangerous rep.
You must be a writer. What a great way to describe that. My theory as well. There was a bar/club nearby. I’ve often wondered if it was ever available for early meetups.
That's certainly possible but I've always discounted that scenario because Alan had a scheduled (virtual) work meeting for which he would have just had time to arrive home. By all accounts, Alan was a diligent employee and wouldn't have been late. I think that's why his partner became alarmed so quickly. JMO.
Alan was likely very familiar with technology and had a degree in computer science. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/dallas-tx/alan-white-10196286 I would believe he would know how to hide something if he wanted- an app possibly. Also if you research certain types of meetups, they don’t take very long. Maybe there was a prior proclivity to this that worried Rusty and was the reason for leaving the gym early?
