IMO, this seems awful sloppy and like someone was in a rush to bundle her up (the belt) and take her somewhere to dispose of her. I don't think she was intentionally left in the middle of the street. She could have been left where she would be easily found but in less of a risky area to be seen by someone dropping her off in broad daylight.

I get the feeling this person was panicking and in a hurry. Could the person have been drunk or high at the time and it was a accident and the clothing removed as a futile attempt to cover up evidence? Or do we have another young killer here? Maybe the person was rushing out of the area for some reason. Is it possible they almost got caught and panicked. If the person was rushing, I think the crime may have happened in the vicinity of where her body was found.

I'm just having a real problem with the theory that her body was placed there on purpose.
Google Cindy Lane in Saginaw, Tx. It is an out-of-the-way kind of road. When you look at the area of Babbling Brook, you'll see how odd it is that Alanna's body ended up there. (He likely abducted her very near her home because that's where she always played.) There is a McLeroy Highway near this road which leads to rural areas, but the monster would have crossed over McLeroy Highway to get to Cindy Lane. Weird. Maybe the monster wasn't familiar with the roads in Saginaw

Why do you think that? Just wondering.

In most cases, information on sexual assaults are only made public when charges are brought. IIRC, Jessica Ridgeways killer was not charged with SA for a bit and that was the first public acknowledgement of the SA.

Somewhere in the first thread it was stated an FBI office is in the nearest big city. Also, with the tarp, belt and bindings, this would seem like an obvious abduction which would trigger a call to them I would think.

Also, I read that it was the Saginaw Police Dept. that requested FBI assistance. Fort Worth is a stone's throw from Saginaw and has an FBI office.

Saginaw Police new quickly that they had a major investigation to do and needed all the assistance they could get. Saginaw is a very small community without a lot of resources for this type of investigation. The Texas Rangers are also assisting.

I live in Fort Worth so am very close to this case and am following it closely.

I am not, BUT actual time of death will add a lot to this case.

The 300 LE working this case....I really don't think they would have that many working an unsolved murder case if their only suspects were the adults in the house. To me, that high number screams that they think Alanna was abducted by a predator, and they still don't know who it is. If anyone thinks that police do suspect someone in the house, then why 300 LE, from the FBI, the Texas Rangers, even other jurisdictions (who have crimes in their own cities)...Not to mention, the cost of such a massive investigation...Why all that for a case where a parent kills a child, something that happens all-the-time? The only way I could see is if they think someone in the house did it, but it is part of a larger plot or scheme.

ETA: There were 100 LE working Leila Fowler's case, for example. They arrested her brother, but they actually did look into other suspects.

Here is an approximate map from her home to the location she was found. Please disregard the route. For some reason this morning I have forgotten how to do a pinpoint map. You should be able to zoom in though and view or walk the area.

About the underwear: I saw some photos of kids swimming in a small above ground pool and most of the kids are just wearing their underwear. Could she have drowned? Why no COD yet? If she drowned, that would be apparent, IMO. If she was strangled or suffocated, that would be apparent. I don't thing there was blood on the tarp or the kids and parents would have slipped that info out. No blood, IMO. So some other method of death.

Maybe their original goal was to get to the lake .

Driving through the residential area from another residential area instead of heading for the boonies with the victim makes me think the person could have left the area suddenly and doesn't live there, if she was intentionally dropped off on the road. The perp could have been visiting the area and left right after the murder. But why risk being seen by residents? So strange.

My daughter is turning 6 in a few weeks and this story is bothering me so much. I watch her like a hawk but I have friends who let their kids run all over the neighborhood and play over at their houses. They check in every 10 minutes of so to make sure they know where their kids are. They are lucky to have that type of neighborhood full of kids, mine hardly has any kids at all. Saginaw is a great place to raise kids, people are lucky. I hope LE knows what is going on with this case. If there are predators lurking, they have to be nabbed ASAP.

You know I think about a accident like this and who would want to do such a thing to her body instead of just saying there was a accident. I guess people will panic but.....still.

I was just coming to post the same thought. And to repeat what so many have said--I just can't see why anyone, in a panic or not in a panic would purposefully stop-at a stop sign in broad daylight in a residential area-to dump a body.

One thought could be "taunting" by the killer, but honestly, I've only ever seen that level of taunting in the movies.

IMO, the body fell out of whatever vehicle she was in. Car? Door not closed? Truck? More likely, IMO.

Or, less likely, someone else opened the door and pushed the body out. Just throwing spaghetti here.

Where was the vehicle headed? If there was an actual destination, there may be more clues there. The dump? The lake? Retaining pond? Maybe evidence thrown out window on the way?

That is what I am thinking too. Marine Creek Reservoir looks pretty close to where the body was found. Worth Lake looks much bigger but is further away, still a possibility though.

If the tarp/body fell off by accident I don't think the perp would go back looking and I don't think they would have been aware of it. The boys who found it thought of it as rubbish, I don't see why if they had been aware of it falling off they wouldn't have stopped and gone back to pick it up.

So with that in mind I think someone arrived at their destination and got a big shock. I hope LE are checking any security cameras at places around these 2 lakes for pick up trucks/SUVs.

The perp headed south but why enter into a residential area when there are main roads available to drive and get to where there is a water reservoir and other empty land? What if the perp was return to his own HOME to bury her? Therefore lives in the residential area? JMO

The photos show it was a poly covered tarp. Those are thick and bulky unless precisely folded, so the belt would need to be very large to go around Alanna and the bulky tarp.

Who would be so dumb to use a belt from their own home? Someone who is so dumb as to lose a dead body in the middle of a residential street?

I keep thinking about the enormous amount of officers that were assigned to this case. (Earlier someone posted that the number was 300.) Does LE believe the monster dumped Alanna in a residential area to taunt them?

Just jumping off your post...

I am mostly thinking the place AG was found was a sloppy accident by the perp...

But I can't help but have a nagging thought that she may have been placed at that location for a reason, Instead....Maybe there is some connection between AG's neighborhood and the one in which she was found... It may be a taunt or revenge, instead of an accident...

:dunno:

I think it depends on what type of accident. Was it intentional? I have a hard time imaging parents do that sort of staging if their child drowned, but I could buy it if one of them flew into a rage and accidentally killed Alanna.

Or maybe the perp took her south into that residential area and was leaving to dispose of the the body somewhere. I wonder what trash day is in that area? He had her wrapped up disguised as garbage.

Some reasons why I think they did not alert the community:

1. They know who it is and have them under heavy surveillance until an arrest can be made. They indicated they had plenty of info on the red truck but they wanted people to come forward with anything else they may have. This would help build the case if someone saw something.

2. The person is already being held on other charges.

Just guessing here.

I'm looking at the map, I'm not local, hell I'm not even american but we don't know where the poor baby was killed. There is an airfield, and a golf course nearby which could be possible sites. To me the route he took is one of a couple possible ones from the area to the reservoir, maybe he was heading one way and saw a police car coming, panicked and went another. Who knows, we're theorising until we know better.

I noticed that picture, too...

I cannot rule out drowning, either...
