*If* it was someone close to Alanna, who knew her and cared about her, it's possible they were so frantic and aghast at what had happened, that a) they weren't thinking clearly and made poor decisions about staging it to appear as another crime and b) were so ashamed with themselves that they had to distance themselves from the original crime by making it appear their complete opposite had committed it (i.e. what's the complete opposite of a loving family member/neighbor? a sadistic child predator).

Murderers who know and on some level care about their victim are well-known to cover the victim's face after the crime out of shame. They don't want to see the victim's face and they don't want their victim staring back at them.

so reminds us of Casey Anthony, always thought she put the tape on her mouth to make it appear a kidnapping after killing her, and in a frenzy dumped her down the street when her car began to smell.

My husband works with another LMCO aerospace engineer ( not Mr. Gallagher, IOW) from this neighborhood in Saginaw. Maybe one street over from the Gallagher's street if not on the same street.
Hubby's friend says the neighborhood is a very good one, and that his children have always been safe there.

Hubby related to me that there is rapid growth in the area so I have wondered about transient workers coming and going in the area...

Today's Fort Worth Star- Telegram has a statement that the parents are not suspects.. Add this to the " NO killer on the streets", " No arrests made" and what is left?

Lastly, I do not know what has been discussed in the previous thread, but this seems to be a crime of " overkill" of a small child with elements of JonBenet Ramsey's murder.. Child bound ( JonBenet's hands were bound), method of asphyxiation present ( cord on JonBenet, plastic bag over Alanna's head, most likely), and both bodies were moved and covered..

However, this has one more bizarre element to it in that the child was covered, but the entire covered body left out in what was apparently a public space to be found. There are elements of both organization and great DIS-organization regarding the known facts of the body alone. The elements of what appear at this point to be staging are both varied and extremely disturbing.

***One question for those asking about accidental death being covered up: If the death was accidental, wouldn't a rational person, even if panicked and frantic, call 911 and get immediate help?

I really have doubts that Mr. and Mrs. Gallagher are involved in some sort of illegal marriage lifestyle if he is still employed by LMCO as an aerospace engineer. They are, on the whole, very smart but some of the most boring men on the planet, and all I have met are always conscious of being morally and legally upright citizens. Even the parties I've been to were boring beyond belief.-- lots of kids, casseroles, soft drinks and men watching football while the wives heated up said casseroles. I always tend to hang with the young children.. the girls and I have nice tea parties. :)

JMO and with respect for Alanna and her family.

Iirc, there have been several reports that the KG got home about 8pm and began to search door to door. These reports were on local news broadcasts.
What time was the tarp seen in the road? 7:30pm and over 1.5 miles away?

What if the truck is a red herring? In the DFW metroplex, there are people that drive around looking for things to pick-up that residents have put out as garbage. What if this person in the truck only stopped to check out the tarp and then saw her and took off?

There is a post above here somewhere that says that everyone was home while she played outside.

We have heard about a belt, but I am wondering if we have heard what specifically the belt was wrapped around from LE. Could Alanna have been strangled with the belt? Maybe the belt was wrapped around her and not around the tarp or bag. I have only seen second-hand witness accounts of the belt, through media. Media seems to get details wrong all too often.

It does happen that people kill children unrelated to them for other reasons than sexual. I could see an older child doing something like this. I can also see a parent (not Alanna's parent, the killer's parent) helping to quickly dispose of her body to keep their child out of jail. Just a theory.

Maybe I missed a more definitive explanation of the belt.

Didn't know that LE said the parents were not suspects. Maybe this "other man" that also lives with the family is a suspect?

  • #351
Someone upthread claimed the belt was "cinched tight" around the tarp. I asked for the source of info but didn't get any, so I assume it was creative writing, unless anyone else has a source.

Somebody's child did something to Alanna and those parents are covering it up?

Since nobody would know who LE might have in jail, why do they not say they have a potential suspect, if that is the case.

Why let people run amok with all of their ideas if there is an answer? This is a big deal.

People are worried about their children. People suspect the parents.

Many years ago in a very expensive neighborhood in the city where I lived, a man was found to be a huge thief , murderer who flew to his jobs.

A family who owned a jewelry store in town gave him their house key to watch their house while on vacation.

You can never really know your neighbors,

Sifting through the thread to find the address of where poor Allana's body was dumped--does anyone have the address handy? TIA

Belt was around the tarp:

Hours before the medical examiner's ruling, Saginaw police released 911 calls made by the Whiddon family in which the caller described the tarp.

"I haven't opened it all the way up, but I can see the legs and everything," the caller said. There's a belt around the [tarp], tape."

I'm not debating whether the belt was around the tarp (since another source was posted), but those weren't actually the words the caller used, hence the words in brackets. Bessie posted the exact wording, which was ambiguous, a page or two back.
