If this was accidental, it doesn't explain this child only having on panties. Unless she was wandering the neighborhood like that, somebody had to take her clothes. If it is a sexual crime gone bad, it's still murder.

Even on Google there are 48 visible parked red trucks not far from the area where she lived and was found - less than a 3km range.
I wish they would give an idea of make and model and the condition of the vehicle (new/old) - my eyes hurt.

could the belt around the tarp been used as a handle for easier transport? if you are trying to lift something up (like onto a truck bed) it may be easier with a handle of sorts...may not look as odd either to a nosy neighbor. could even look like a duffle bag someone was putting in their vehicle from a distance.

I am mainly a lurker, I have been reading for years! However, I read earlier, and I can't remember where, that they (authorities) said Alanna was 'tortured'. So, if that is the case, then I wouldn't think it was a drowning.... I found the link! http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nat...her-article-1.1389968?localLinksEnabled=false This case is heartbreaking to me, as I am a mom too, and these stories just grab my heart and soul. I hope the perpetrator is apprehended soon.

It's been hotter than hell in Fort Worth (temp in mid 90s). Maybe Alanna took off her own shirt or sundress while wandering around unsupervised in the extreme heat.

Hmm. Maybe she climbed in a car or shed and suffocated in the extreme heat?

That would still require someone to find her soon after, wrap her up and attempt to get rid of the body. If someone has no fault at all in a childs death surely they'd phone an ambulance and the police rather than hide and hope they don't get found out :s

I read that too but it could be the daily mail speculating, they seem to do that! I've not read anything else that implies she was tortured at this point from the police. I'd like to view a statement to that effect from the police before thinking this is credible.

If LE is sticking to the "no child predator" statement, then I don't think we are looking at a delivery person, or anyone like that. My best guess at the moment would be older children/teens. Though if they could do this, they ARE child predators.

So was it actually a belt, or was it tape? Or both?

The older cousin is the one who said he felt around inside. I'll grab the link.

ETA: I just noticed this article refers to Mr. W's children. I believe that's an error.

According to this part of the interaction between child and parent... There is no mention of a tarp...

Do we know for sure there was a tarp to begin with...

Or was a tarp placed over the plastic bag (by LE) which held AG as a measure to protect and give dignity to the child?

Sorry if I am having a brain blip....

I mean...who would use their belt for this purpose? It is like saying "Here is my belt, come find me now". It just does not make any sense. Belts are generally made of leather, and it would seem like they would be crawling with dna.

I was just reading up on the JonBenet case and they were mentioning that DNA is so easily transferable that even brand new clothing in a store can contain traces of DNA from anyone who handled it in a factory, stocking shelves or other customers touching the fabric, you just need all 13 markers. The DNA left on JonBenet only had 10 of the 13 markers.

A person would a healthy conscience would call the police, but a narcissistic puke wouldn't. They can't stand to be seen as imperfect.

Excellent thought. Also, fhc mentioned that it being garbage day, there could have been a scrap metal person driving around and throwing items into the back of the truck.

A bit O/t at the moment, but I can't get past three RSOs at one address on Parkview. Do they really put these guys together in like a halfway house type situation? Or are they just roommates?

Information given to police has focused on a red truck that authorities described as a “vehicle of interest,” but investigators have also received tips on other information related to the killing of Alanna Gallagher.

“We’re still getting a steady number of tips,” officer Damon Ing, a police spokesman, said Thursday. “Detectives are tracking those down as quickly as possible.”

I wanted to throw something out the regarding the LEs "Public has nothing to fear" statement.

It's entirely possible the person who committed this crime has been picked up on something else entirely. LE may have a suspicion and was able to hold them on a traffic warrant while collecting evidence/strengthening their case.

OR the suspect is deceased. There was a vicious murder of a teacher in my city last year. LE was adamant there was nothing to fear. It took them slightly over a week to finally announce the murder suspect was killed in a car accident after having a heart attack while fleeing the scene. Instant karma ;)

BBM: A "public has nothing to fear" statement was issued during the murder investigation of Marie-France Comeau. Canadian LE theorized her boyfriend had killed her, thus the statement.

Her actual killer was the former Colonel Russell Williams, commanding officer of Canada's largest air transport base.

By all appearances, HE was not suspicious in any way, shape or form.

Turns out, he murdered one final victim, Jessica Lloyd. He made a few mistakes in his brazenness. He left a boot and unique tire print at the scene of her abduction. He wore the same boots to the police station when things began to narrow in on him.

The "public has nothing to fear" statement, became a "lock your doors and remain vigilant, a serial killer is on the loose."

So, I am not really a big fan of the whole "everything is okay" mentality by LE. I get not wanting to cause panic.

But, COME ON, LE. A 6 year old baby girl has been left in the most heinous manner in the street in a quiet, Texan small city. Their citizens have a right to more information than is being released at this time.

I just don't see how you can give dignity by leaving her in the street where she could have been run over by a car. If you want to give her dignity, you place her somewhere safe, either buried to keep her from being scavenged by animals, or in a place where people can eventually find her.

I think she fell out of a truck bed, the perp was most likely on his way to finding a dump site....I don't think that residential intersection was his first choice. Since she had a bag over her head makes me think she was already used and dead, she wasn't alive when she fell on the street...the fall didn't kill her. Sometime between 4-7:30 was when she was with this killer.

Final Warning.

I answered my own question about the three RSOs living together. City data has the house owned by one said sex offender. So the other two are his roommates? Lovely.
