If its just her street blocked off I wonder if they are zeroing in on a certain location.

Is my brain wandering or was it reported that Alanna would go around the corner to a friend's house. If she would go around the corner you would think they would block off more streets right?

I know the one neighbor (NJ) that dad knocked on his door looking for Alanna lives on the next street over, behind Alanna's house but, I'm not sure about "around the corner".

Is it weird the police cars have their emergency lights on?

Yeah I would say that is weird for some investigating. Generally lights on means urgent or something like that.

Sometimes it's just to make sure the car is visible so people don't run into it when they aren't expecting it to be there.

I remember they did this more than once during the Jessica Ridgway case. It was partly to make sure they had talked to everybody who might be going in or out of the neighborhood, partly to cut down on the ghouls and gawkers, and partly to reassure the neighbors that LE was on the job.

I Disagree. Your life becomes on open book for LE when your child ends up dead on the side of the road with no other suspects. I would cooperate on every level possible if I were them. LE has to know every angle in order to gain the intel necessary to find this monster who did this to a child even if that means getting the nitty gritty on the parents sex life and their lifestyles to the tinyest details.

Someone was talking about why they may have not called LE early about her being missing.

They did not know she was gone at that point. So all it would have been is a call about help searching for her.

Yes, good point. And I can say from personal experience that not all LE is into being helpful to people with alternative lifestyles when they have a problem that would ordinarily be considered LE's job. And my lifestyle at the time was not nearly this alternative.

I was just coming back to post about this. There were three cop cars following me home just a while ago (before all of this was happening) and I'm wondering if this is where they were headed. I felt like something was up, and heard the helicopters hovering and continuing to do so. Hoping something big is happening...

Me, too - like an arrest!

Are all of those cars Saginaw PD? Can anyone tell? I've only seen a back side of one.

From comments on Saginaw Texas News fb Haltom City PD is also on Babbling Brook.

ETA They were over Highland Station as well.

What/where is Haltom City?

Isn't this a fairly common (though still to be credited), one-week-after, "seeing who was out and about in the neighborhood at the approximate time of the crime" police action? The helicopters may be there to see who, upon arriving nearly home, runs when he or she sees police presence.

From that article

Saginaw Police Department spokesman Damon Ing said investigators are looking two vehicles –– one is a red truck with a green splash of paint near the rear tire well. Ing has not identified the second vehicle.

What/where is Haltom City?

Haltom City is just a neighboring suburb. Many neighboring towns will "partner" for duties, but I'm not positive if that is the case here. Our town partners with three or four others for investigations and even shares offices/dispatch services.

The search warrant affidavit, obtained by News 8 Monday afternoon, details more than 100 pieces of evidence removed from their home in the 600 block of Babbling Brook Dr. and from their Ford Taurus, Honda Odyssey and Hyundai Elantra vehicles.

However, police have repeatedly stressed that the parents are not suspects in the girl’s murder. Karl Gallagher, the 6-year-old’s father, declined to comment from his home.

What/where is Haltom City?

Saginaw is just N of Ft Worth. Haltom City is just E of Ft Worth, relatively close. I wonder if other PD's are offering aid to get this job done or if there are special seasoned veteran investigators at certain departments. Maybe Haltom has some officers on the Major Crimes unit. mooo
