I'll be surprised if it's that simple. If it was, an arrest would have likely been made. Imo
Plus we have no idea what facts LE has.

That's not true. If someone in a small town is part of the "good old boy network" and commits a crime, chances are they aren't being charged, and the town will protect them. The HS quarterback kills someone while driving drunk? He'll get a $25 fine. Look at the Steubenville case to see an example of what I am talking about. They were finally charged after national outrage, but many people in that town defended them, blamed the girl, because they were football players.

I agree with this to a point. Yes a dui or a petty theft, then locals might turn their head but I don't know that any town would knowingly protect a baby killer.
Key word, knowingly, it could be there are people in this perp's circle of friends/ family who think WOW he is an oddball, but there's no way he did something like this.

Did I miss autopsy findings or were they never released? I remember media folks saying things like 'we'll know more after the autopsy today' which made me think the findings would be made public, so if they were not, what does that tell us? They don't want the perp to know they KNOW something specific OR could it be they don't want the public whipped up into a frenzy because of some certain details?

Back to the Somer Thompson case, They never released COD until waaaaaay later. Cannot remember when. Maybe when the perp was caught.

I do know of a case in Canada where a perp had killed his girlfriend. They arrested him right after the funeral.

Her family was out looking for her door to door by at least 8 (still daylight this time of year), according to neighbors. I know there are those who would like to paint the family in the worst possible light, but don't act like they didn't make a peep till 9. If the family gets charged, you'll get your chance. For now they are considered victims.

Sometimes there are too many suspects and finding the one proves difficult because there is a reasonable excuse for evidence being present.

All IMO the JonBenet Ramsey case comes to mind.

Cause of death and manner of death both just say "pending" with no other details. There is another case above Allana's that does say "pending toxicology" but hers just says pending.

If they are going to wait for tox, which IMO is a good possibility, then it could be weeks before they rule her official COD.

Due to the fact that this is a child, they may not report all the awful details. My county in particular, is very quiet about releasing all circumstances surrounding crimes of this nature.

But if they are waiting for tox, does that imply that it was not something obvious like ....... ......something they can see with their eyes, violence of some sort? Or not necessarily ?

ETA a drug type of death would imply a plan and NOT a moment of opportunity , which is somewhat what it appears to be now. If someone planned this out enough to drug her then they dropped the ball on the latter part of their plan. moooo

They may just want all the reports back before releasing an "official" COD. I could be wrong though. I doubt there is any question it's a homicide so that's a given, but the details may not all be reported.

Maybe there are several circumstances that could have caused her death. I don't think tox will show anything, I'm just thinking on the lines of getting all the documents back before making a definitive ruling.

In that same article it says: Her father reported her missing about two hours after her body had been found about a mile from their home. Her parents could not be reached Thursday.

So they report her missing around 9:30ish. What were the parents doing ALL that time? I know it's been reported that one of the fathers was out looking but were all 3 adults out looking for her? Why not call in sooner? My hinky meter goes off big time. If I had a missing child I would be FRANTIC and I would have called the police within 10 minutes of not being able to locate my child!!

That's what I remember. 4 or 5 and I believe the source for the 5 info came from a parent, dad iirc when he returned from work.

Can't find the link right this second, but a neighbor reported that the father was knocking on doors at 8pm. When he saw the father, he appeared very worried. IIRC, the neighbor started helping the father look, shortly after that they flagged down a passing police car (who was in the neighborhood for the discovery of the body) and "reported" her missing. I've also read that she was in and out of the house all afternoon. The last time she was seen by the family has not been released by LE. There's also been no reports of who she was with all that time. If she was out in the neighborhood, I would think she had been playing with at least ONE other child! But there's been no reports from anyone that shed been at their house that afternoon or outside playing with their children.

LE has not released any info on any of this, but surely they've established who saw her that afternoon and when.

Seems she didn't have specific check in times and roamed freely. So it's not like she failed to check back at 6. I would assume she could just go out and return by dusk?

LE press conference stated they were still trying to determine when and who last saw her and what time it was. We have no idea how long anyone was looking for her or what time anyone saw her last. All that has been reported was sketchy details in the heat of the moment in the beginning.

We do know a father flagged down a officer when he was out looking for her and reported her missing. We do know she was found before that. I don't find that so strange at this point. Not everyone calls LE before they go looking for their child.
