all I can think of ATM... Some coolers have dividers or shelves...so this may explain middle section...

but then SW says rest of item... Rest of blue cloth?... Or rest of cooler?

I'm also pretty clueless. But I'll ramble on about it for a while. Here's the whole line item:

"11) blue piece of cloth, middle section cooler and rest of item;"

The person who wrote this is not going to win any awards for clarity.

Maybe a piece of blue cloth was sitting in the middle of a cooler. So maybe the line item is referring to seizing a piece of blue cloth, part of which was in the middle of a cooler.

Maybe the middle section of a cooler was lined with blue cloth. In that case, maybe the entire cooler or the entire cooler liner was taken.

It's also possible that these are basically two unrelated items that are listed on the same line. They did something like that on lines #14 and #18. In that case, they took a piece of blue cloth and whatever "middle section cooler and rest of item" means, presumably all or part of a cooler (which has nothing to do with blue cloth).

Here's the transcription of the listed items of page 7 of the SW (from upthread):

1) Smiley face memo;
2) white scraps of paper or fiber;
3) roll of kleenex cottonelle toilet paper;
4) yellow/clear toothbrush;
5) clear/pink toothbrush;
6) green/white toothbrush;
7) pink/clear toothbrush;
8) swabbing (1)
9) swabbings (2)
10) 3 toilet paper tubes;
11) blue piece of cloth, middle section cooler and rest of item;
12) roll of black duct tape;
13) walmart plastic bags;
14) Hefty cinch sax box with black plastic bags with yellow drawstring and small roll of toilet paper
15) Blue/clear gum microtip tooth brush
16) red/clear gum microtip tooth brush
17) purple/clear oral B toothbrush
18) white trash bag w/ yellow pull tie; walmart bag

FWIW, the handwriting seems to change at #14 in case you are trying to get clues from the context of its position in the list. It is odd to see a cooler listed amidst so many toothbrushes and bags.

I can see why they might take a piece of cloth for fiber evidence and maybe if it had stains on it, but I don't know why they would take a "middle section cooler and rest of item." If there was a stain or fluid in the cooler, you'd think they could just take a swab. So, maybe the blue cloth did have something to do with lining the cooler. :dunno: Again, whoever drew up the list wasn't interested in making this information as clear as possible.

I do as well, just wondering what LE might be thinking. So, how can the non-bio dad be the legal dad? Did the bio dad relinquish his rights and let the other guy adopt her? I'm just no realizing there was a third parent in the family and have no idea what their arrangement is. Which one is the mom legally married to, if the bio dad and the legal dad are not the same? I assumed the one w/ the same last name, but the comment about the legal dad = I'm so confused!

im trying to catch up, forgive me if this hss been addressed. in mosft states, the legal husband is put on a birth certificate, regardless of the biological situation. fascinating court cases have popped up due to this( imo) bizarre law... so, i would assume that is the situation here.

Thank-you.

It does not appear as if the offender I am searching for is incarcerated.

How do I determine if he has posted bail? I haven't done that before.

Thanks to anyone who can assist.

Could not find anything last night to confirm he was still in? But then again I'm not the very best on looking up status on incarcerated folks. Figured today I might try to get in touch with one of the news stations that reported about him and see if they can do some digging if they do not know.

The thing is, LE would only take things for a reason. The house was filled with books. They took no books. There is a piano. They did not haul that out.

So what would these items be about?

Im sure LE did have reasons to take those items. They already had A's body and Im sure some things were very clear what they were looking for ie garbage bag, store bag, tarp, belt/restraint and tape. I am curious about the tp and how that will help in the investigation. Perp taken down by tp that would be great.

My kids are active in sports that involve other children around Saginaw, but not in Saginaw. The other moms are not concerned with this case, even with one of my children being a classmate of hers.

and here ^^^ we have, imo, a major problem with society. when people are not outraged with the brutal murder of a child, well, that is just plain f'd up. :facepalm:

 • #686
MOO is that someone has been watching this child. Knew that she was allowed to roam and probably watched her for a few days noticing when she checks in. He/She then took her at the moment that He/She could get away and do what they intended and dispose of her.

This is a crime of opportunity. I just hope they have enough evidence to catch this perp. This may be their first offense, but maybe not their last if they are not caught soon.

Another thought.....This could be some twisted individual who didn't approve of the "family units lifestyle" and did this to punish them. No telling what this monster was thinking.

I think she went to a home she has visited before, one she knows of and is comfortable in, probably one the parents are comfortable with her visiting too. I suspect that a husband in that home took the opportunity of a wife being out and assaulted and murdered her. Someone who no suspicion would attach to and was lucky enough no one saw her go in...plus no one would think of it bc its one of their friendly neighbors.

 • #688
Or it could have been someone just driving by, saw a child alone, unattended. In Samantha Runnion's case, the guy didn't know her, but kidnapped her as she played near her home and then killed her. She tried to fight him but of course five year old is no match for a grown man.
Assuming the bio dad is telling the truth and she left the house to go play with a friend.

The problem with that theory is that the police haven't been observed going to any other homes to take evidence. There's the one home that LE visited....the one with the older teenager....but all they came out with was a small paper bag.

I understand a perp that lives in the neighborhood isn't going to come forward and say that Alanna was at their home.

If the perp lives in the neighborhood they have had over a week now to get rid of evidence. :(

Ok. Back to my question if anyone has any ideas.

You can access the SW from here

http://media.star-telegram.com/smedia/2013/07/09/17/40/1u0udJ.So.58.pdf

On page 7, they took a blue cloth, a middle section of a cooler and the rest of the item.

Any ideas?

Found this "2008 Honda Odyssey/Quick Drive" on youtube; tour of the back seat area starts at 1:02. There is a removable "center bench seat" which converts to 1) a console with drink holders and storage, which converts to 2) additional storage or 3) can be removed to create access to the 3rd seat area. It looks lightweight and easy to do. Removed, it can have 1 or 2 parts.

The SW includes a "2008 Honda Minivan blue in color at Babbling Brook Drive".
The property sheet lists items seized from "Honda Odyssey VIN 9134".
The property sheet for "Babbling Brook Dr. Saginaw, TX" lists as 1 item # 11: "blue piece of cloth, middle section cooler and rest of item".

I think the Odyssey's removable bench seat/console was found inside the Babbling Brook house; it contained a piece of blue cloth; and that the first part of this seat-thing ("rest of item") was also found inside, and seized.

I've never seen an Odyssey, but I have seen a console very much like this one, in a Jeep Cherokee, but the Jeep's was also a working cooler. It's what I imagined when I read item #11: that cool console cooler.

MOO. Your mileage may vary.

I follow everything u r stating here. However, I looked today, for the first time, at some of her mothers joined sites. S g e sounded like a devoted mother, her husband a devoted father. Even though they had an unorthodox relationship, they sure as heck love their children!
It might be they cane ibto contact with a child perv, I dont know...
Or it might be a perv stalkef her or a perv saw a crime if opportunity.
but one thing I feel certain about!.... these parents loved her very deepky! My heart aches very deeply for them. Very...

I give very little weight to the information people post about themselves on websites they control. It's hardly unbiased, and most people try to put their best side forward online. I have plenty of friends who appear to be happily married on facebook, or great parents, or what have you, but it's all a matter of what they decide to post about themselves. I give more weight to the fact that she was apparently home for hours and could not be bothered to go see if her little girl was OK or confirm that she was actually playing at a friend's house. How irresponsible and neglectful.

Any thoughts about this video?
http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Alanna-Gallaghers-Father-I-Want-Justice-214847271.html

The reporter says the investigators say she wasn't shot, stabbed, probably wasn't beaten or strangled.

So that leaves, what? Suffocation? Poisoning? Drowning? Rape that caused internal bleeding? I will assume that it wasn't natural causes as her body was disposed of in such a way and it's being investigated as a homicide.

Trying to figured out the tp to. My SIL use to rock climb. He would always bring a tarps. One tied up to the trees for shelter just in case it rained and other on the ground below his tent. I hosed it down many times when he got back and it was a mess with debris, including tp stuck on it. He also had a soft military cooler with mess type of compartments inside and out. IDK maybe the tarp that was wrapped around her had tp on it and fibers to a blue cloth.

re: Honda van

I do not have a Honda van but I do have a van and many other WSers probably have also.

The seats in my van are easily removed. We take them out often if we need to transport large items.

Coastal, any ideas why you think the van's seat may have been found inside the home? (speculation only).

That only says that LE may not be considering every theory. I think they should have at least asked to search every residence on the street and then concentrated on ones who said no.

I still think the recanvass the other day had to do with some tests results back that did not point to family. That they were fairly confident it was domestic until then and had to regroup.

As Jjenny said, it could have been a quick stop and grab too but i figure because he needed room to do everything a house she knew makes more sense.

Also LE may not have gone to any other house because they couldn't get a warrant. The occupants probably look like a normal family or married couple who wouldn't hurt a fly and if he has no history of assault there is nothing to make them zero in on that house. To many of these creeps are the person next door (be it one door or 10. Everyone likes them and can't believe they were arrested when found out.

I don't care who looks like a "normal" family/person etc. LE should know better to not go by appearances. I realize they can't get warrants for every house within a mile radius but you would think that they would want to go in and talk to residents and try and figure out the comings and goings of everybody.

I hope we hear something soon. It's been nine days already and there is a killer on the loose.

If Alanna was killed by a predator, I think it's likely that the COD was suffocation based on what has been eliminated and what I've seen in similar cases.

Why are they saying she probably wasn't beaten or strangled...Have they not gotten the results for COD back yet?

Sorry, I misquoted, the reporter says she was not beaten, and the probably part only refers to not being strangled.

And if that was the case, I'm sure she feels like absolute *&%$ about it now and will for the rest of her life without reading things like this at some point in the future.

That said, this perception of them/her is based on what a couple of neighbors said and seems to be without consideration of the more positive ways that others portray them. I've got two neigbors who aren't my biggest fans, either.....and I'm sure that they both would be the first two in front of the TV camera assassinating my character before the world if anything ever happened to one of my kids.

When the very first thing someone says about someone else is that unkind, I tend to take it with a grain of salt. If she was truly neglected and the neighbors were that concerned she should have called CPS ages ago. Maybe they are partially responsible, too?

Geesh......
