I can't find the article link for the two girls abducted in Tyler in 1989/ 1992 or 3 but I would love to see those two in the picture lineup with Amber, Ashely, Opal and Alanna.

Megan Garner?

Are these them? http://deaniepeters-missingangels.blogspot.com/2012/12/megan-elizabeth-garner-missing-23-years.html

They were both abducted in cities outside the Dallas/Fortworth area, one about 2 hours from Saginaw, one about 2.5 hours:

With the hot tub water sample being taken, I think it could be DNA was destroyed by bleach? Or partially destroyed.

I might send an email to local media this afternoon.......

And, if I were an (innocent) parent I think (as much as anyone thinks they know how they would react to such a thing) that I would probably be in front of the media constantly. If nothing else letting perp know that I would never rest until they were caught, prosecuted, and that I would do all that I could to expedite sitting in the front row when the state puts the needle in their arm. (This IS Texas, after all).

That's not to say that not seeing this from the parents means they are or I think they are guilty.....what I have learned is that everyone reacts differently, and no one's reaction is going to be perceived the same by everyone. There would be some that would respond to how I think I would react with, "The lady doth protest too much". I might also have family or another advisor (attorney, etc) recommending that I take a cue from LE and keep my trap shut so as not to spook the target(s) of the investigation.

I don't know what to think anymore.......I'm just talking (ok, typing) now.........

I wondered about that too, since we use that to disinfect in healthcare. I posted a link a few nights ago (Thurs or Fri, I think?) that actually showed that while chlorine bleach does do more damage than most other cleansing agents and it increases with time, that more than 80% of the time you still have a reliable sample & result.

I'll see if I can find it again.......

It keeps the child out in the face of the public. Somer Thompson was solved by the public. Who else?

And, if it was your child, would you want her forgotten so quickly?

And LE has a responsibility for public safety.

I'm not familiar with the Somer Thomspon case. I hit Wikipedia, it mentions public outrage at the suspect being released, but makes it sound like the case was solved by DNA.

If it was my child who was dead, I can honestly say I would be too busy being devastated to care what strangers on the Internet thought or whether they "forgot" her. Now, if the argument is that public/media pressure is the only thing motivating LE to do their job, I can see the argument of getting some NG time.

Finally, I assume the "99.99% of child murders are perpetrated by family" statistic must be at least somewhat specious, or else people wouldn't be quite so enthusiastic about blaming parents (in general) for letting their kids play outdoors. Can't have that one both ways. (I know it's very high but I also know it's not 99.99%, and I suspect that other factors come into play, such as single parent/broken home/custodial dispute/drug abuse/history of abuse, etc.)

I went on Americas Most Wanted website. There are fugitives on there that have done horrific things to children. I'm sending them a note to seek justice for Alanna. :please:

I posted about this on the previous threads. If the perp was alone, he would have to stop at the intersection, look around to see if anyone is about, lean over, open the passenger side door, try and get the body wrapped up out of the vehicle, shut the door again and then drive off.... all with no one seeing. It's possible, but I just can't see it, it's too risky and too cumbersome for this to have happened. A second perp would have made it much easier.

But I'm still going with my idea of Alanna's wrapped up body being strapped to the roof of a vehicle with roof restraints. One of these restraints came loose or snapped causing her body to roll off the vehicle when it went around the corner. The perp panicked and fled leaving Alanna where the teens later found her. This could be the reason LE took all types of restraints from the family home, and the perp may have felt it was less risky having the body on the roof of his vehicle due to there being less chance of traces of DNA, fibres etc being left, than if the body was inside the vehicle or in the trunk.

I'm trying to understand how this would work. If Alanna was tied to a roof rack, then it could not have been a truck, right? So the red truck does not relate to
Her disappearance under this theory?

And why would a perp tie a dead child's body to a roof rack instead of stuffing her inside a trunk or in he back seat or, in the case of a truck, in the truck bed?

I feel like driving around with a dead body strapped to the hood in broad daylight is very conspicuous and I just can't imagine any perp doing such a thing. I can't imagine why they would. When vehicles have things strapped to their hoods or sticking out of their trunks or windows, they bring more attention and risk being rememebered or stopped by police more. I don't think a perp would risk that.

What are your thoughts? Your reasoning?

In this particular situation, I completely understand. At one point in this thread, mods were having to step in over petty nastiness like the parents' weight every couple of hours, not mentioning some of the more legitimately unusual stuff.

I suppose I'm also not sure that parents' public pleas ever help crack a case, but I'd certainly be happy to be demonstrated to be wrong. Otherwise, I don't think they owe us anything.

BBM I agree... the parents don't owe the public anything.

While I understand we all grieve differently, I'm a little surprised about how controlled the emotions seem to be. Maybe all three are just too devastated to express their anger towards this monster perp?

Thank you local people for letting us know what is going on in the Fort Worth area.

I honestly don't expect parents of a murdered child to make media rounds but I am surprised there isn't a family spokesperson.

This seems pretty eerie, does it just look that way to me because I don't have kids and all little girls of a certain age/coloring are going to look superficially similar with bangs?

I really can't tell. It does seem eerie.

Also, adding to why there's been little media coverage -- as far as I can recall, I don't remember parents of an abducted/murdered child ever being so quiet. A lot of times, interviews with parents will fuel continued coverage, but other than the two statements released by the fathers, there's been nothing from the family.

When a child is abducted, there's more of a need for parents to do constant media appearances. It's not the same when a child is found murdered. In another case where the child was never missing, JonBenet's case, her parents did an interview on January 1st (a week after she was found dead) and didn't make another media appearance until May 1st. They did release statements through the lawyers though during that time. Leila Fowler's parents have never said a word to the media except for very brief informal interviews. Also, Jessica Ridgeway's mother talked to the media once before Austin Sigg was arrested. I also believe that Elizabeth Collins's parents were pretty quiet when the girls first went missing, right? And I don't think Lyric's parents have talked to the press since the girls' bodies were found.

It's okay to quote me!!!

Anyhow, perhaps it was a bit specious but here are some stats:

1. .01% of missing kids are victims of stereotypical kidnappings involving involve someone the child does not know or a slight acquaintance who holds the child overnight, transports the child 50 miles or more, kills the child, demands ransom, or intends to keep the child permanently: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...=cnFhGeqt_UORwYwMtR2Weg&bvm=bv.48705608,d.cGE

2. 71% of ALL homicides involving children under the age of 12 involve crimes committed by family members. Only 3% of kids under 12 who were victims of homicide were killed by strangers (13% are killed by unidentified which could be family, acquaintances or strangers). http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...=nQkwAmfToXcgmcHKm6u7FQ&bvm=bv.48705608,d.cGE

So, it's pretty overwhelming that family is to blame in "these cases" (abduction, missing kids, murdered kids).

The reason people are enthusiastic about blaming parents of missing/murdered children who let those children play outdoors has to do with emotion, not statistics or logic. The reason we hear of almost no parents being prosecuted for neglect when their children go missing, due to leaving such children unattended or allowing them to play outside, is due to logic and statistics, not emotion.

The two do not correlate. :moo:

3 similar looking little girls I'm ...meh...

5 similar looking little girls all within a couple hours drive of each other?

Different story. I would have to know more about the backgrounds of these crimes but the similarity of the victims is startling!

Personally I think Alanna is unlikely to be related, as whoever took Alana probably lived or worked nearby and was a disorganised killer vs an organised one.

Organised killers don't make mistakes, and the fact he left Alanna to be found so quickly with so much evidence, is a mistake of monumental proportion, intended or not.

Unless the person is very transient, has a lot of different homes or access to them like Israel Keyes, of course...

But Keyes didn't make silly mistakes like dumping/dropping a fresh body right in the middle of the street.

Wow.

Have there been any others more recently? Can we look at the histories of RSO's who may have been in prison during any gaps?
