This case hasn't been in the news much since the trunk was found. I am hoping there was enough DNA to send away for testing and the family can get some justice for Alicia.
Wow! Why?! I seriously can't think of one senario where closing down the found would help catch the perp. Can anyone think of any reason?
I just have a sinking feeling this is going to end up being a cold case. I really hope I'm wrong though.
Happy Birthday, Alicia. We won't forget you.

"So far, no suspects have been named and no arrests made in her slaying.
Investigators, which include the Greenville Police Department, Texas Rangers and Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office, have remained tight-lipped about the investigation. Investigators have not even released the autopsy report that explains how Moore died."

"Greenville police have said they have leads in the case and are waiting on DNA test results to come back."

Newly released documents in the case reveal Moore suffered from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and was on medication for it. And her mother told police she'd disappeared before with an older male she'd befriended over the summer. That's why her case was initially filed as a runaway.

Also, another man told police he went into the RK Mart that afternoon. He said as he walked in he saw Moore sitting in the front seat of a car.
"I just remember seeing her walking all the time. She had her glasses on and how little she was. That's the only way I could recognize her," he said.
He described the man Moore was with as a husky and "not from around here."
"I kinda got a strange feeling because I was kinda scared to say something to him. But I went on and spoke to him anyway," he said. "She kinda looked at me then held her head down."
Investigators confirmed that they did talk to the possible witness, but said the lead has gone cold.

Family members and friends of Alicia Moore intend to gather in Greenville this evening, for an event marking the six month anniversary of the local teenager’s disappearance and unsolved murder.
A candlelight vigil and balloon release are scheduled for 7 p.m. at the intersection of Bourland and Walnut Streets in Greenville. Special guest for the event will be Rev. Henry Batson of Friendship-West Baptist Church in Dallas.
An arrest has been made. One station is reporting it was her uncle, one says that information has not been released.

I guess if true about uncle, I have my definite answer from LE as to why the family was not talked to more about the case.
