Authorities seek public’s help in search for missing Howard County woman

Howard County authorities are asking for help locating 39-year-old Amanda Lynn Bates, missing since September 2024 in the Knott/Big Spring area.

Howard County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Rangers are requesting assistance in locating Amanda Lynn Bates, who has been missing since September 12, 2024.
Amanda was last seen in the Knott/Big
Spring area. Her current whereabouts are unknown, and there is concern for her welfare.

Bates has been described as Hispanic with brown eyes and brown hair. Her height has been recorded as 5 feet, 2 inches , and she weighs approximately 185 pounds. As far as physical characteristics, she is said to have an angel wing tattoo on her right hand. Another crown tattoo adorns her left hand, while a purple rose tattoo is located on her left back shoulder. A red star tattoo sits on her left arm.
