Elkins' mother, Shani Kilpatrick, said her daughter would never go a day without letting someone know where she was. Kilpatrick said her phone rang at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, but she missed the call because she was sleeping. When she woke up later that morning, she realized it was her daughter, so she called her back.

"I called her back and a guy answered, I asked where Amber was and he hung up." said Kilpatrick. "She would only call me at 3:30 in the morning if something was wrong. That's why I know something was wrong."

Kilpatrick said the man was her daughter's new boyfriend. The two have been dating about a month and Kilpatrick said she does not know much about him.

Elkins hasn't been seen since Sunday night. Shellie Krenzke, a long-time friend, saw her Sunday afternoon and gave Elkins $20 for gas.

In fact, Elkins' boss met the 20-year-old Sunday night around 8pm to give her money for a new outfit. But Elkins, who'd been fighting for custody of her daughter, never showed up to court.Elkins' boss may have been the last person to see Elkins. Investigators tell us they've already talked to him and are calling him a witness. They are also working to track down some of Elkins' known associates so they can talk to them. Her boyfriend claims he hasn't seen the missing woman since the middle of last week.

I am praying HARD for this family. All night. And all day tomorrow.
Please God let her be found.

Amber's family keep this news in the press in Houston. I thank God for Tim Miller and TES. Amber could be anyone's daughter. She belongs to all of us.

I just saw an article saying that Tim's group is looking for her. Prayers that she is located.

Elkins, who has a 9-month-old daughter, was last seen Sunday evening. Kilpatrick said Elkins was supposed to go to court the next morning to fill out paperwork for the beginning of custody hearings concerning her own daughter, Ava Ferrata, whose father had refused to return the infant after a visit. But Elkins never showed up to the hearing.

A friend last saw Elkins and her boyfriend Sunday evening when he stopped by a department store to give her money to buy new clothes for the court appearance the next morning, her mother said. Earlier in the afternoon, family friend Shellie Krenzke, said Elkins and her boyfriend stopped by her house.

(There's a ton more information at the link, including information about the text messages someone sent to Amber's mother from Ambers cell phone).

"For almost a month, Humble resident Shani Kilpatrick had a gut feeling something bad was going to happen.
Her daughter, 20-year-old Amber Chantel Elkins, seemed out of character, hanging out with a new crowd including a new boyfriend, none of whom Kilpatrick knew very well."

Hmm just speculating but perhaps this is the reason the baby's father did not want to return her? Sounds like she fell in with a bad crowd :(

The only two people that I'm suspecting at this point is her current boyfriend and Ava's father.

I hope they find her soon enough to determine COD.

Me too... After reading today's articles I am leaning more towards the boyfriend. Especially after it was reported her Mom said it was her boyfriend who answered her phone and it was then reported that he said he hadn't seen her since midweek! A lot doesn't add up here!

a lot of requests for money, im sure they have talked to the people taht were giving her money to see if they know for a fact that the money was used for gas/clothes.

behaving out of character, hanging around with all new people and new boyfriend, not looking very well at all according to picture - drug use. imo.

* RUMOR *

The rumor on several sites is that AE was going to court on Monday for a drug charge, not a custody hearing.

Black said searchers focused on a two-to-three mile radius from the car wash where Elkins’ vehicle was found, but as of around 6 p.m., no trace of Elkins had been found.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigators meanwhile are interviewing family and friends to determine what happened to the young woman. Cell phone records are being reviewed and the blood inside Elkins’ dark green Chevrolet Trailblazer is being examined for a match.
