James David Clark, 31, was charged with murder for the death of 20-year-old Amber Elkins, investigators said. Details surrounding his arrest were not released Saturday.

According to officials, Clark recently became Elkins' boyfriend.

The search for Elkins' body is ongoing. Texas Equusearch officials said Clark has not told them where her remains might be.

Clarke (spelled with an "e" on the Harris County website) has a criminal history that's as long as your arm dating back to 2002. He has been charged with everything from "unauthorized use of a vehicle" and "trespassing" to "theft", "assault with bodily injury" and possession of a controlled substance. I found no less than 17 (SEVENTEEN) charges! Not a great guy to hang out with IMHO.

HUMBLE, TX (KTRK) -- Police arrested a man who they believe killed a young Spring-area mother who has been missing since last Sunday.James David Clark, 31, is charged with murder for the death of 20-year-old Amber Elkins. Investigators said they found enough evidence to arrest Clark. They picked him up Saturday at a motel in Humble.

Now, Texas Equusearch and dozens of volunteers are in recovery mode, searching for Amber's body. Clark has not said where her remains might be.

Boyfriend charged in murder of missing Humble woman

"Investigators said Clark gave them no leads to find Elkins, but they reportedly had witnesses and enough physical evidence to point the finger at Clark.

Still, Tim Miller with Equusearch is determined to find the body.

“Without a body you know a lot of people walk,” said Miller. “We don’t want this guy to walk. We don’t want him walking so we will continue this search until we find her.”"

This case makes me so sick. Considering the amount of blood in the car, I think Amber suffered quite a bit at the hands of this murderer. I pray they can find her and get the evidence they need.

Vigil set for Humble mom as search continues

A candlelight vigil will be held tonight for a Houston-area woman who police believe was murdered by her boyfriend.

Relatives, friends and volunteers from Texas EquuSearch will gather at VFW Post 10352 at 16035 Waverly at 7 p.m. to remember 20-year-old Amber Chantel Elkins. The Humble mother went missing July 24.

Tim Miller, founder and director of the group, said searchers are trying to pinpoint her location by tracking which cell phone towers both Elkins' and Clark's cell phones bounced off of when she went missing Monday.

He said the heat is slowing down the search though, and noted that several workers on Saturday were treated for heat exhaustion.

"We're not covering as much ground as we'd like to cover as fast as we'd like to cover it," Miller said. "We've got to think about the safety of our searchers. Out of a nine- or 10-hour day, they may only get in about three good hours of searching."

I'm so freaking upset over this!!!!!
I heard that her and her brother were so close and i watched him crying his eyes out begging for her return and then we find out that she is DEAD!!!! I've been on her fb.....she was so love w/ her baby girl.....and on her missing fb page...so many people love her and miss her!

Elkins’ father is pleading with his daughter’s boyfriend.

“We have a right to know, help us lay her to rest, you know, don’t let this go any further,” said Mike Elkins.

“Stop this,” said Elkins. “You know, I mean whatever happened, you and God can work that out. Don’t let my baby lay out here like that. Let me bring my baby home.”

At least it wasn't the baby's father this time.
I hope that he will be a wonderful father to that baby and allow Amber's family to have visitation just like Amber would have. I hope he does what is best for Baby A.

Searchers believe they have located the body in Porter Texas, off 1314 and Gene Campbell Road. Texas Rangers and Sheriffs Dept are on the scene and the road is closed off. There has been no conformation it is her as of yet but Harris County officials believe it is.
