@Minnesotaloon welcome to websleuths! I’m from MN too :D Happy you’re here and hope you stick around.
I agree with your post, that is pretty fishy to me as well. Even if there ARE several Blankenships, there are quite enough similarities to raise an eyebrow at... moo

I'm not having any luck finding updates on the identification of the body found. Hopefully her family will get answers soon.

Rest in peace, Anna.
Autopsy report on Anabel Bruton has been released
Jun 5, 2020

KJAS News has obtained a copy of an autopsy report on the body of 29-year-old Anabel G. Bruton.

Snip

in April her body was found hanging about 30 feet in the air from a tree in a wooded area off of County Road 486, about 2 miles north of Kirbyville.

The autopsy, conducted at Forensic Medical Management Services of Texas in Beaumont, listed the cause of death as hanging, the manner of death as suicide.

So... let me get this straight... she ran into the woods with nothing and is found 30 feet up in a tree hanging from it?? ...

It's easier to climb 30 feet up in a tree yourself than it is to haul a person up unless you're really crazy like that Matt Hoffman guy - or you throw a long rope all the way up and hoist them from the ground but that would seem pretty obvious from the crime scene unless it was pretty carefully staged and seems like it would leave indicators on the body as well.

It's a shame we can't get crime scene reports the way we can get autopsy reports.

Yeah. NO. I need more info. What was she hung by? She just found some rope (or whatever was used) laying around the woods? I call BS.

The fact she was seen beat up pretty badly before this leads me to lean one way... but correct it would be insanely difficult to hoist someone up in that manner.. another mode of suicide to cover homicide would have been easier.

I'm not sure if you are still interested in the facts about Anna's death. She's my sister in-law. And she was found hanging by her belt. And I also came across the case that was similar to hers and that had stated Rodney Blankenship was the other woman's boyfriend at the time of her death. I knew Anna, bad times and good, and it just doesn't make any sense. She loved her children more then life itself. She wouldn't of just gave up. But still they have labeled it as a suicide to this day. I just wanted to give her a little bit of a voice on this subject.
