I'm not familiar with the area but on google maps it looks like less than 20 miles from their home.
I'm watching a facebook video I believe is a news reporter. Officer just said it's a homicide investigation. Tons of cop vehicles and crime scene tape. Not sure if I can link it?

The remains were found about 75-100 yards off the road, according to officials.

We're told it appears the body was burned on site and it could have been there for as long as a month or as little as a week.

As much as I would like a happy ending, they seem to have known for some time she was killed so I pray this is her remains so they can put her to rest for her family's sake and that they then have enough to charge him with murder.
The fact they think the body was burned on site brings some questions.

It’s now all over the news. We have no idea if it’s a male or female that has been found. It’s someone’s loved one though.

Interesting, I wonder if there were only partial remains. If the skull was intact dental records should quickly eliminate or verify Andreen.The officer said it could take a couple weeks to a couple months to identify the remains
He said they were badly decomposed, then he said "burned". It sounded like it will be difficult.
I think if they’re lucky that some dna might be left in the center of some of the bones or teeth. I would assume the superficial damage to the teeth in burning would make it too difficult to make a dental comparison

UPDATE -- Sheriff Javier Salazar said the BCSO is "hoping this is [Andreen McDonald]
"Being that we're working on the Andreen McDonald case, we're cautiously optimistic that this very well might be her," Salazar said.
Salazar said they will be checking DNA evidence, which will take some time.
"I'm like everybody else at this point, we are hoping to find Andreen, we absolutely are. My homicide folks have been working literally around the clock on this case, coming in on their days off. Organizing search parties of one, two, three people up to hundreds of people. We've been working like crazy to get some closure for Andreen's family.
"I'll tell you exactly like it is, we're hoping that this is her. But we have to remain open-minded until the evidence takes us there."

Yes, I heard that. He also said it could have been there a week to a month or so. Not very definitive.
I wonder if the husband has any connection to this area or knowledge of it. I do not suppose we will find that out either. At least not soon.
I don’t want this to be Andreen, but at the same time I do because I don’t see how she could be alive, and she deserves to be found.
If it’s not her it’s someone’s loved one, and I just hope it doesn’t take too long to identify this person.
