I wonder what county or court those records are in? There was nothing on him in Harris County, where Ashanti lived.
not sure how long ago but there is a Dallas, GA address associated with him in the past. I wish there was an easy way to search all counties in TX but I haven't found one yet.

Thank you @tlcya. Texas, as you pointed out, has just a county by county search and not all counties participate. Georgia unfortunately is worse. The good database charges a fee if you are not an attorney so we can't use and link. The only free database that I know of is PeachCourt and it's useless. It pulls up by name and county BUT it actually gives you ALL counties and anyone with even a couple of letters of that name in their name. For the suspect, a search for one record in a specific county brought up 200 records, most of which were people with last name FOX.

Search Tip for Harris County (Houston area cases(). He didn't show up earlier searching with a name entry under civil/family courts, and the criminal court search required a specific offense and the ones I entered had no results. I found him by clicking "Party Inquiry" on the upper medium blue banner towards the top of the page. You do have to register to search with an email contact but no cost.

so he was convicted in February, given his credit for days served which should have left him 137 days yet to serve so why was even out to kill her and their unborn son? The math isn't mathing for me.

On my local news FOX 26 they said the charges have been up grades to capital murder, Texas thats the death penalty or life without. Plus, she was pregnant double homicide. Justice for this lady and her baby. This guy belongs under the jail. jmo.

Texas has a foetal homicide law. At eight months, her baby was viable. I'd like to see charges for that, too.

It doesn't add up unless the order correcting judgement referenced on today's date incorporated a plea agreement that got him out earlier that somehow was't in the public record. Doesn't make sense to me.

Here is the recent activities in his court case from the county clerk website . He was sentenced 2-19 to 280 days with credit for 143. (so 137 days incarcerated to serve) . That should have kept him in jail at the time Ashanti was murdered.

seems as if as soon as he got out he immediately set his revenge plan in motion based on the timing of this murder and that previous charge of assault. This feels preventable.
----------
When contacted by PEOPLE on Friday, April 17, a Houston Police Department spokesperson confirmed the charge against Faux had been upgraded to capital murder, but could not specifically say if the charge was in connection with Allen's death.

Those with information about Faux's whereabouts should contact Houston Police's homicide division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

I hope they find him sooner than later, IMO this is a dangerous person, he gives zero Fs and will kill again in future if this goes unanswered

As the investigation continues, Allen’s family is demanding answers about how a man with a documented history of violence was back on the street just two months before her death.

*****
In September 2025, Faux was charged with two assaults against Allen and served time behind bars. But now they’re wondering, why was he freed?

“Why do we keep letting these people get out and walk around here, the Houston area?” said Edward Allen, Ashanti’s father.

*****
Court records reveal Faux began serving jail time for the assault against Allen in September. He was then sentenced to 280 days in February, a term that would have kept him behind bars until July.

However, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office applied a two-for-one credit, cutting his sentence in half and releasing him instead, just two months before he would be accused of killing Allen.

Crimestoppers says it’s a tactic used to keep jails from getting too full and to reward for good behavior.

*****
Crimestoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Kevin Faux. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crimestoppers immediately.

Court documents obtained by ABC13 detail what happened between the time Ashanti went missing and Faux's arrest, and it's something Ashanti's mother said she knew all along.

*****
According to court documents, around 3 a.m., Faux Face-Timed someone, saying he killed someone and texted them, "Imma felon then I killed a person."

*****
"My son started pinging her phone; her phone was pinging at Kevin Faux's mom's house," Gaines Colbert (her mother) said.

Court documents also reveal HPD later recovered Ashanti's car next to Faux's mother's house.

*****
By April 12, records showed Faux arrived in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, by bus to visit a woman. The woman told investigators that Faux said he was "involved in a missing persons case" in Houston involving his "baby mama" and asked her "not to look it up."

By April 14, documents revealed the woman in Louisiana contacted authorities about Faux, adding that he was also using Ashanti's debit card.
