TX - Ashlee Long, 28, gunned down when companion "brushed his hand" on a passing Mercedes. Kendrick Finch, 34, arrested, Dallas 5 April 2025.

I don't know what they're saying. So Finch was riding in a presumably nice car, (but not his own?), when the victim and her friend passed by the car, with the victim's friend touching the nice car as they passed? And this touch caused Finch to kill the victim?

So were the victim and friend on foot or driving? Where did this happen, in traffic or parking lot or what? And this wasn't even Finch's car? Did Finch know either the victim or friend, or both? Was her friend male or female? Why did he kill her and not the friend? Was the friend injured? So many questions, sorry!

It seems like Long & her companion were on foot (?) --
According to an arrest affidavit cited by CBS News Texas, the confrontation began when William Kistler, a man accompanying Long, brushed his hand along the side of a passing Mercedes. Finch, a passenger in the vehicle, allegedly exited with a firearm.

Surveillance footage played in court showed Kistler retrieving a gun from Long's purse, at which point Finch opened fire. Both Kistler and Long were shot; Kistler survived, but Long later died at the hospital.

Finch's attorney, Josh Healy, has argued that his client acted in self-defense.

I wonder if some kind of argument happened before the shooting?

In the video, Kistler confronts someone in the street while Long tries to pull him away.

He then touches or hits a white Mercedes driving past, which stops, at which point Kistler is seen rushing to pull something out of Long’s purse.

Surveillance video and multiple still images show Finch stepping out of the car holding his gun first, which would make him the aggressor, the prosecution says.

The death of a glamorous Texas realtor has taken another mysterious turn with the arrest of the handsome stranger she was with when killed.

Ashlee Long, 28, was shot dead on April 5 while visiting Dallas for work.

Disturbing footage showed her in the street with a handsome mystery man, later identified as William Kistler, 36, at 2:30 a.m.

It's unclear how the two knew each other - he does not work in her line of business, and she was engaged to be married to a different man in the Houston area where she lived, according to her online obituary.
Kistler has been charged for being a felon in unlawful possession of a firearm, relating to the April 5 shooting.

He previously faced charges of assault causing bodily injury to a family member, burglary of habitation, violation of a bond or protective order, boating while intoxicated and driving without a license, according to public records.

He remains in jail on unrelated outstanding warrants.

Yes I would assume some disrespectful remarks were made between parties and someone pulled out a gun first then the other and the suspect decided this argument was how he wanted to end several lives including his own. I feel so terribly for her family right now, such a senseless, prideful waste, heartbreaking.

I watched the courtroom video, ie about 45/50 minutes worth. It's 98 minutes long.
Horrible and sensless.

Yes Kistler retrieved a gun out of Long's bag, after the Mercedes stopped, and to me Long appeared to try to stop him. The men faced each other, Finch with a gun in his hand too. But Kistler did not point the gun at first. Finch fired, the flash is visible. I don't know if words were exchanged.
Before all this happened, Kistler brushing the Mercedes, there was another guy who approached the couple from across the street. Kistler, imo, appeared animated, (maybe agitated, inebriated?) waving his arms around. Was he under the influence, maybe? his body language. The three went back across the street and talked, argued? Don't know. After that Kistler walked in the middle of the street with Long following, and that's when he touched the passing Mercedes.
The detective, cop who was being questioned was very matter of fact, relating the events.

Then when Finch's lawyer asked the questions, the lawyer came across as aggressive. Even shouted, and tried to twist the cop's words. He called his client "my guy", and insisted, sneered, it was Kistler who started this. Yes Kistler touched the car, that precipitated the whole thing, but Finch fired and shot them both, killing Long. However I don't know when Kistler fired his gun, (3 casings were found) but from what I saw Finch aimed and fired first (9 casings found). Did not watch the rest though....Finch's lawyer irked me, and I'm too tired.

The Mercedes had two dents on the side. Was it so damn precious that some bloke touching it would put the occupants in a rage?? For heaven's sakes, let it go, there's much bigger issues in the world.
