About 2:29 p.m., police responded to a home in the 1700 block of Robin Drive for an unconscious child. When officers arrived, medics — who had performed CPR on the child — told police the boy was dead. Officers observed bruising on his body. Blood splatter was also found on the wall of the child's bedroom, a dresser next to the child's bed and on the bedding.

The child's mother, Amanda Pinon, told police she left her son in the care of Michael Duty before she left the home. She said she last talked to her son at 8:30 p.m. She referred to Duty as her son's step-father.

She stated that she got home and checked on the child and he was asleep in his bed, but she did not physically check on him. She stated that the next morning at a little after noon she went to check on him and he was cold, stiff and not breathing.

The child's step-father started CPR, and she called police. Dispatchers said they received the call about 2:30 p.m., about two and a half hours after the woman told police she found her son.

Pinon, 26, and Duty, 28, were arrested on suspicion of capital murder.

:mad: I'm so tired of these cases. I hope the mom is also charged. I don't understand these cases at all.
I would do anything to protect my babies and if someone did ever harm them they better hope someone stopped me from harming them.

So the poor soul was, cold, stiff and not breathing and CPR was started. Am I missing something here?

Quite honestly I enjoy this site (you know what I mean), but sometimes these crimes against children seem like a never ending head ache that goes on and on. The cruelty gets worse, and the excuses more stupid and pathetic.
