You could well be right.

Another thing that could point towards not only an ambulance chaser, but perhaps a low skill ambulance chaser is the speed at which the suit was filed.

I know that US BAR ethics restrict ways in which attorneys can contact people for legal services. Though it is entirely possible that the family found the attorney, if the attorney found the family, how did he or she do it? Can attorneys "cold call" potential clients?

Personal injury attorneys cannot “cold call.” The rules on attorney advertising/solicitation are quite strict.

From personal experience, so-called “ambulance chasers” are some of the most compassionate, ethical attorneys I know.

I’m looking at this lawsuit a tad differently. It is quite possible there is some whistle blower type that did reach out to the family with information that led to this decision to sue. There could be personnel records or complaints against him that are not criminal.

Frankly, this business model of allowing contractors to “buy routes” is different than UPS where drivers are company employees and unionized. The public doesn’t realize the difference-or the risk. I think it will be interesting to see what types of checks and balances FedEx is responsible for and what they actually do.

I’m not an attorney so I may be way off base.

Now that the SA charges have been added, there is absolutely no way I believe he hit her with his truck. He picked her up and put her in his truck intending to assault her.

I'm having a hard time locating those numbers within the Texas criminal code. Can anyone else find those anywhere?

SA of a child has a bond of $15K???

Probably an unpopular opinion, but there needs to be NO bond on any SA, especially of a child. I'm fine with them requiring a proof evident presumption great hearing, but I am sick of low bonds and penalties on SA. When someone is SA, it is a life sentence for those who are assaulted, so it should be a life sentence for those convicted.

not by code numbers that were indicated. Still looking. The related offenses I find in Texas Penal Code come under 21.__ and 22.__.

ETA: Does local government have its own set of criminal codes?
