As bad as kidnapping and sexually molesting athena was, i think if TH had dropped her back in an hour at the end of her driveway being incapable of murder - his crime would have been much lesser in the eyes of law and prob not DP level - although rape of a minor below 8 is DP in florida as we saw in the Stephen S case?

Murdering her after molesting her was , what purpose did it serve, unless he enjoyed that as well? I mean, with therapy and healing, eventually she could have at least lived and lived a normal life. Tanner is SE student at Azle Elementary School who has been referred for multidisciplinary team assessment as a part of his 3 yr review for SE services. Results of this assessment suggest Tanner continues to exhibit a mild for of Asperger's disorder. His social deficits and lack of appropriate communication continue to be his greatest affected areas. Tanner lacks empathy and has little ability to form friendships. His ability to use language is not impaired but the affective and relational aspects of his communication is significantly below what one would expect. his eye contact is normally very poor and he has possible sensory issues especially in the area of his personal hygiene needs. He is very rigid about change and is more successful when he is on a schedule. In addition, however, Tanner also appears to have emotional deficits that also negatively impact him.

we are back. Mary is back on the stand being crossed by the state. She didn't have much contact with Tanner Horner, she was more a fact gatherer. She saw him only in order to prepare this report so his IEP could be updated.

You described him as bright right? He was bright enough to function in a regular classroom, I may have misused that term.

He got the support you say he needed from school? Yes, once he had his IEP. And he got that support? Yes.

you had some contact with his grandmother? Yes. Was she your point of contact with the family? Yes. his mother was in and out of his life so the family felt like that was a big trigger for his emotions.

Aside from this report you prepared Tanner wasn't really on your radar at the school? Yes, not like some.

Defense wants it noted that there are protesters outside holding signs that read execute Tanner Horner. They think the jurors need an official admonition about social media and Facebook. Judge says jurors aren't seeing the protesters because they are parking elswhere and being bussed in by sheriff department. He will continue to admonish them about social media.
