We are back. Photo of black bungee cords (the prior ones discussed were blue) these were also collected and placed in evidence. It is states exhibit 141 and is admitted

states exhibit 129 is the light source equipment, it can illuminate stains bodily fluids urine semen etc. It is the stronger one of the "flashlights" used in examining the truck.

States exhibit 130 is a photo of an illuminated stain using that alternate light source. It was located on the step leading into the fedex van/truck. A special filter is used on the camera to show the illumination.

states exhibit 140 is ten swabs collected from the cargo hold of the truck. Each swab has a matching/corresponding swab collection location from within the truck.

defense objects to 140, it is overruled 140 is admitted.

asks him to identify photos taken dec. 2nd at Horner's shed. they are pics of the main residence for that address, not the shed.

defense exhibits 6 thru 10 are admitted.

without being gross or graphic, the clothing found, including undies, at Horner's shed/home didn't appear in the photograph exhibits we saw yesterday to be soiled in a way that I would expect if Athena had soiled herself while clothed. That leads me to believe the soiling self more likely than not happened while she was unclothed

the fedex truck/van used in the abduction is referred to in investigative reports as Van number 1. the van Horner was in when arrested is referred to as van number 2.

She is the evidence tech who was tasked with locating what was used to cover the camera. They had reason to believe a fedex sticky label tag was used for that purpose. They contain names, addresses and tracking information etc about packages. They collected quite a few of those and added them to evidence.

The "black Box" was removed from the fedex van (van number 1/abduction van). She observed a trooper remove it and it was placed into evidence.

tech has since resigned from her position (honorably). This occurred during her participation in investigating another murder investigation in June of 2023. In that investigation photos were taken. She was disciplined in regard to those photos. Her standing order was to personally take the photos. Instead she allowed the intern training with her to take a couple of those photos. Later she was asked if she had let the intern take those photos and she lied, and told superiors no. She eventually admitted the truth of the matter. In October of that year she resigned from her position.

State is getting all of this out on the table now because defense will attempt to use it to question her credibility

Defense is now crossing. The sting has already been removed from her later failing to follow proper protocol. I am tuning this out for the most part. Well done by the state.

Witness is agreeing with the defense that it is important to follow protocols to ensure the evidence is rock solid in case it will be used for trial particularly if the case may be a murder.
