Well-played by the State, on cross.

Asked the witness, after all the hardship she endured, whether she had abducted, SAed, or murdered anyone.

Didn't some of these family witnesses say they had been watching the trial?

His mother admitted it yesterday.
IMO.

Another witness, somebody's cousin on someone's side. Knew TH as a toddler, when she was a 10 year old babysitter.

new witness. TH's second cousin (Ms. Sullivan). She babysat TH when he was a baby and a toddler during the summer when she was around 10 or 11 herself.

Describing her cousin, who is Tanner's mother. She used to be such a happy person then, doesn't even recognize her now. Melissa used to babysit her and her brothers when she was young. She was great, fun happy. (are these mitigators for TH or for his dang mother???)

Just shows me how lacking the Defense's artillery is. This witness at 10 or 11 would babysit Tanner at Melissa's home all weekend long while his mommy was out stripping drinking and drugging.

What in the world? She was 10.

Left alone for a weekends, taking care of infant TH.

So is this what made him steal Athena abd commit unspeakable atrocities before killing her on his final attempt?

Harsh, but fairly brilliant.

Is every family member going to be blurred? They really offer nothing at all. IMO

Terrible father who essentially wasn't there for TH's life.
Can we call this a nothingburger?
IMO.

I agree. It’s all very insignificant given the horrible nature of the crime. IMO

witness describes Melissa as being more stressed during the period she babysat for TH. She seemed to always be trying to get into a good place (indicating she wasn't in that moment) witness could tell she was using drugs and drinking. Melissa wanted her to come back the following summer to babysit but instead of cash wanted to pay her in weed. (she was around 11 or 12 at this time) She accepted that deal because she was into weed at that time.

She stopped babysitting when she moved in with her mom and got in with wrong crowds and did not want to babysit anymore, she had discovered other interests within her new "bad crowd" after the move.

at the time she thought Melissa was a good mom. Now describes her as having been struggling, did her best, she tried, etc.

Describes Tanner as an infant still in diapers when she was babysitting him. Describes playing with him, walking him to the park. He was an active baby with lots of spurts of energy. Witness is having trouble describing what she means by that. Says he was like her baby brother who has adhd. Lot of energy. Had to keep close eye on him as toddler, he would get into things (as toddlers do FGS) he would eat loose change and he would poop them out. It was like an obsession.

Oh dear, TH had to be kept away from coins as a toddler. Such a unique situation. Oh brother! 🙄🙄

TH swallowed a lot of coins.

The defense attorney is sickening by giggling during her questioning. IMO.

Defense: did you have a opportunity to see TH personality develop?

At 11?

She is their expert?

He would sit in the corner in his own little world.

Sometimes he would get so hyper it would almost be aggressive, more so than the then 10 year old witness would think was necessary. The fit throwing.

  • #1,839
when TH didn't get his way he would throw a fit. Welp, that clinches it.

I'm just trying to imagine the family group chat that lead up to all of these women testifying on TH's behalf.
I just couldn't, as a mother, an aunt, a cousin. As a human being.
I couldn't.
IMO.
