state objects to any testimony as to what any other expert told her. She can testify only to what her own interactions and experience of Tanner. She cannot bring up the diagnostician's report or what it contained.
I bet she tries. She’s not understanding her assignment, IMO

I’ll be shocked if the judge allows her to testify.
I think the judge will be allow it, if only to protect sentencing from appeal.

These witnesses add nothing but distance.

I keep trying to comprehend how he went from thinking 'Athena is a cool name , cos I like Greek mythology' to pouncing on her a few mins later and torturing and killing her

I got myself into his head up to the point where his ex leaves and he is terribly missing his child and he snatches another child - but then at this point, my head only went to him kidnapping her, raising her as his own with genuine love like his own in a new place and then feeling so guilty about taking her he returns her to her parents a few years later....and even that made no sense.

So many breaks!!!

TH's 5th grade teacher brought up how awkward TH was, to announce bathrooming to the whole class.

Which TH's attorney just did, before a full courtroom.

So it would appear the diagnostician's report will remain a mystery for now.

I am confused, will the individual who prepared it be testifying at any point? Has it been disallowed into evidence? Is that why we have this parade of non experts attempting to testify with "expertise" about autism? Did the diagnostician not have the appropriate credentials to be diagnosing?

It is beginning to sound to me as if a doctor didn't diagnose Tanner Horner with Autism. Sounding like someone in the school system did. Am I crazy?

personally I am of the opinion that all the state needs to do at closing is play that four minute audio. Not another word needs spoken. I am sorry for the jury who would once more have to hear it but really what words are needed in the shadow of that tape?

It’s confusing me too. This witness mentioned Asperger’s during voir dire. This is a circus defense. IMO

He was an angry pedophile. He didn't care what her name was or even who she was, he was trawling for a little girl. One he could overpower, dominate, terrorize, torture.

Why are some little boys fascinated with bugs?

And others, rip their wings off?

He wanted to do what he did.

It's that simple and that sick.

Yes, but he said to ranger Espinoza ' I thought her name was cool, I like Greek mythology' so these creatures sound so human like .....that's what I cannot get my head around, he sounds human , looks human, but was so inhumane - laboratory specimens that are dead would have had more empathy.

jury is back testimony is that a part of her job was to take Tanner out into the public and help him understand appropriate behaviors, life skills, how to behave in a restaurant, how to order, what is acceptable behavior in public setting and what is not.

Defense is, in a roundabout way, asking about how much cooperation she got from Tanner's mom in making sure everyone was handling his troublesome behaviors the same way.

I think you're on the right track with this.

All these witnesses from TH's grade/middle school were operating on a care plan (from other districts iiuc). Somewhere in his records, it must say that he has asperger's and then support structures were put in place but they must not be able to find the terminal point. No one knows where the diagnosis came from IMO.

So one time somewhere by someone the word went on paper and here we are.

"now now Tanner, you are not a piggy bank, we don't eat coins." (sarcasm alert - sorry but I am sorely tired of this dog and pony show)

I’ve never heard of a speech pathologist teaching manners. Or did I misunderstand?

I wonder how many of these witnesses did not want to testify. And that's why they are being granted the courtesy of first names and blurs.

witness is reviewing her own records of her visits with Tanner (remember, she only worked with him for about a half a school year).
