TX - Austin Package Bombs #3

Honestly, I'm not sure.
I don't see why they would request that, it's not like it really keeps you from seeing anything, as you can just drive right by it. But I guess it would help to keep non-local people from seeing anything... but even if that's the case, why do you care?

The media also gave out the wrong address.

The whole thing is just really bizarre.

ok, curious so the media out the wrong address for MAC's house or his parents house? I would understand not wanting to reveal their address.
from what I could tell comparing photos of a yellowish/blue house that MAC';s house is next door to the blurred out one. Maybe it's abandoned? Can you tell by just driving by?

The pictures that they are posting all over the internet as being MAC's house, is the house that has boarded up windows. It's not abandoned. It's "the" house. But the address is one number off. And the intersection they've been stating in several places as being "2nd and Walnut" is not correct, either.

I just don't get it. It's weird.

I'm really confused.

I was able to drive by the house just a few minutes ago, and the house that they are showing as blurred out on Google Maps is NOT the house that has the windows boarded up...

I'm extremely, extremely confused.

I will say though, the house that is on Google Maps, does not look anything like what the house looks like NOW...

Really, really strange. The whole thing.

The address the media announced as his address, is not actually the address of the house. I'll just say that.

this should be the house, they are breaking out windows in the vodeo, and then It is shown boarded up.

video of the boarded up house:

Privacy of the residents? Don't want anyone tampering with the house?
Anyone with half the PI skills can find it if they drove by.

Yup, took me two seconds to find it, but I was confused because it wasn't the house that I thought it was going to be, due to media discrepancies. I should have taken a picture, but there was a neighbor outside talking to someone, and I didn't want them to think I was taking a picture of them.

Yes. This is the house. However, this is NOT the house blurred out on Google Maps, and it's also not the house at 2nd and Walnut (like media stated), and it's also not the house at 402. N. 2nd Street, as media has also previously stated...

I hope 402 N. 2nd address doesn't exist or a neighbor is going to be quite upset. I got 399 N. 2nd Street.

Nope, 402 doesn't exist.

So, they said it was at Walnut and 2nd street.

well, no it's not.

No, it's not 399.

It's 403.

I just went back and looked, and no... evidently I'm wrong. For some reason I thought they said 402, but evidently they said 403 from the beginning. So I was just confused.

Okay, so it is 403.

I'm still not understanding why the other house is blurred out.

My Google Earth today says 403 doesn't exist but keeps taking me to 399 N 2nd Street. So odd.

403 does exist, lol... SO WEIRD, I'm telling you.

It's a bright blue house on Google Maps... doesn't look even remotely the same. I know they said they were making repairs and renovating, but it looks SO much worse now (even before the police got a hold of it) than it did before.

I recognize the house, it's a cute light blue house. Looks like since Google Earth was there it was painted yellowish on one side. Looked like it was run down before the raid but now it looks pretty rough.

Yes, the 403 house on google maps actually looks absolutely lovely. Lots of plants, and well maintained. I wonder when the google image is from.

Yeah I mean there are tons of valid reasons to homeschool but to keep them away from society is a dysfunctional reason IMHO. Learning to interact and even cope with diverse groups of people indeed helps prepare us for the adult world and can increase compassion, tolerance, understanding, etc.

Adults do this all the time. Sometimes to their own detriment. I compare it to a form cognitive dissonance — they “other” crime victims as a way to convince themselves they, themselves, are less vulnerable, for example.

"Both House and Conditt got haircuts at the same Pflugerville barbershop for years."
1st victim and bomber went to the same barber. Possibly they met?

That interview at the link with the neighbor. MC was a "normal, nice kid". Everyone is nice, family were nice. They were all nice. No one has anything bad to say about the serial bomber. Sorry, but mass murderers are not nice people.

As the journalist mentioned in the column upthread, I'm tired of hearing about how nice every mass murderer is lately. All nice people who went to school and church. Good family.

No, they weren't nice or good and there was something wrong with their families too. People need to stop being in denial about the scourge of nice, good, middle class mass murderers in the US today. JMO, there's something wrong in our society today that's producing these killers at such a rapid pace.

:gaah: double negatives are so hard to understand.

I so so so very much disagree with the last statement on this post. As a child, I was tested, not due to any Behavior, but as a freebie through somebody I won't go into it with about 30 children through a university.

I still have those papers in my files.

Apparently in the 8th grade I told the counselor and the person at the University that I did not have much empathy. And I was very concerned about it. She told me that having empathy that I didn't have empathy was showing that I had empathy. If that makes sense.

I don't want to share or digress, only to say I vehemently disagree with the above post. There are many people that are Psychopathic or sociopathic, that realize they are, and don't know what to do with it. They just grew up with it and learn how to deal with it.

There are very very many examples of CEOs who were such, or people who had very disturbing mental issues. The most famous, maybe Ted Turner, who was well-known.

That's a great story about your test. It showed you had self-awareness and really did have feelings and empathy for others.

agreed. I guess his dark side was either hidden pretty well or their idea of normal is a bit twisted.

Bomb victim’s father thanks authorities in letter, questions son’s death

https://www.statesman.com/news/loca...r-questions-son-death/kZg7i9cLLj2wh9zVXuLSmL/

So sad. Elliott House has been left childless with the death of his son Anthony. His other son was killed at age 17 in 1994.

RIP Anthony House and prayers for his family

It's horrifying. Poor man. He lost it all.

“I wish I were sorry but I am not,” Mark Conditt said in the cell phone recording, according to sources familiar with his statements. He described himself as a “psychopath” and said he feels as though he has been disturbed since childhood.

Conditt also promised that he would go inside a crowded McDonald’s to blow himself up if he thought authorities were closing in on him, according to law enforcement sources briefed on the contents of the audio."

IMHO: He was driving Northbound on I-35 possibly headed to a McDonald's, by Red Roof Inn. End plan? Glad he was stopped. Many lives were saved.

Yet the police chief heard this is oozed love for this self-admitted psychopathic murderer. It's astonishing and disgusting to me, Total disrespect to the victims and the terrorized residents of Austin.

Read "The Sociopath Next Door". They are in all walks of life and many of them very successful.
