So far no live stream, I wonder what the deal is.

Darn I missed the defense closing.... how was it? Any significant points we didn't see in the news reports?

Defense is up now.

With luck, one (or both) or the stations will post the closings on YT for anyone who has missed them.

10 minute break before (presumably) state closing rebuttal (video stopped before the judge finished her statement).

  • #309
Apparently they're taking lunch instead of 10 minutes.

  • #310
If they took lunch it was a short one, state has been up for at least 10 minutes (I was out of the room when they came back). Shucks.

ETA: I'm not sure what's happening, they just broke for lunch, and it looked (and sounded like) like the defense, not state was up. Maybe someone who hasn't been preoccupied the last hour can clarify this. lol

I’m at work so hoping there is a replay on YouTube I can catch later. Anyone able to give a quick summary of the key arguments from each side?

  • #312
They're back, defense still up.

Defense:

Narrow window of opportunity
Shotgun shell wadding found at autopsy from a Federal shell
Neighbor's shotgun had same shell
No one testified seeing DT with a shotgun since '90's
Defense finished

State has an hour + remaining, short recess for state to set up.

State:

If that door was open when the glass was broken, you're done.

There wasn't a debris field where it should have been.

Windows of time:

Ken Temple turns a few minutes into 10 minutes

Belinda only honked horn at Temple's, did not get out of the car.

Most important window of time testified to...stream carps out and TVU page comes up, don't know who the testimony is from (someone who went to Roseann's house across the street). Angie got to Roseann's house about 5:25 p.m. that day, and...stream carps out again.

(Click2Houston's stream is working)

Window of time on back-end (after DT gets home) is when he did the staging, before taking Evan across the street.

Reason why Shaka was in the house -

Mrs. Parker hears her dog start barking, goes past the Temple garage, no barking in T's garage.

DT doesn't tell anyone that night where Shaka was.

Angie did not see dog legs when she saw DT's legs get out of truck in garage, dog would have greeted DT when he got home.

Dog bowl in garage - uneaten fresh wet dog food in the bowl.

The "live" stream was terrible. Kept cutting out on me. Finally, I gave up. I don't have time to waste on a stream that cuts out and sometimes barely audible.

If a trial or any part of a trial is streamed 'live' by a Houston TV station in the future, I hope the TV station that is doing the "live" stream, with audio, is not the TV station that was awarded the "live stream" responsibility for the David Temple retrial. It was terrible!

As many know, the Judge allows only one mainstream media to stream "Live" and the other TV stations are in the approved media pool and they stream from the "Live" stream.

I hope one of the mainstream media TV stations will post the Closing Arguments to YouTube.

Same here, that was pretty awful, at the end I had to have my speaker full blast just to hear her, and lost so much continuity with all the drops at critical moments.

The opening statements are posted on YT so hopefully they'll get the closings up too - it should be much better than the live stream was.
