Your post made me remember something -- does Texas have hard water? Could it be a water softener salesperson or do all of the victims use propane for heating, etc??

Wish I could say more, but I need to give them time to check into it first as it's a possibility the perp could also be following this thread.

Well I doubt the tip I turned in turned out to be anything, but I was reading the Austin Craigslist, and some guy was advertising that he wanted to photograph women from age 60-91 in their homes. In Iight of the rapes, I thought that ad sounded strange enough to be reported to the task force to check out.

It sounds legit, but you never know since several serial killers have in the past posed as photographers. It would call for the rapist changing his MO, not probable, but not entirely unlikely. Anyway, I just thought the ad was too weird not to call it in.

Not hearing anything!

I'm pretty much buried w/ "stuff" IRL so haven't been posting much, but I do try to find out what I can about what's going on w/ this case.

I'm thankful that we haven't heard about more attacks, but I also wonder if the SR has moved on to another state...ya'd think if he'd been arrested/incarcerated, fingerprints or DNA would have already put him on LE's radar.

It's so frustrating right now -- every case I'm following is quiiiiiiiet -- No News at all!!

(And I'll second the 'hard water' remarks for central TX....even some of the cities have very hard water, not just the MUDs or folks w/ their own wells.

Water softening systems are very common.)

Here's a man who fits much of our description of the Texas rapist. He's young, dark skinned, and very bold. He actually knocked on the 92 year old woman's home and then pushed his way in and raped her. This happened in a suburb of Kansas City and I see no connection with Texas (ran a check on the name in Texas) but you never know.

I also read through all 62 of the Topix comments and that's always a real "joy". Didn't find anything of interest other than a single post by a "Brother". Do people just get off on being mean spirited, crude and racist? Never mind, I know the answer. Why yes, the solution is gated communities. Jeesh.

The only thing that caught my eye is that this name seems to come up in Africa. This guy's name is Simon Takwana Angilda. Remember the comment from several of the victims that the rapist spoke with an accent? I wonder if, possibly, this young man might have traveled to Texas and Mississippi in the last couple of years?

He is from Nigeria and came to the US to go to college. Very interesting. The testimony/story is re-enacted, I believe. This is connected to the City Union Mission of Chicago and a series they do called, "Unshackled". It starts with a very unsettling comment about leaving "the porch light on". YIKES!!

DING DING DING!!! Can someone else please listen to the audio link above. This is the story of Simon Angilda Sr., a young Nigerian man who came to the US as a student in 1978. It is most definitely a re-enactment meant to be uplifting about how a man can turn his life around. It tells about how he traveled to Kansas City, went to college and finally married. He works as a pharm tech even though he was trained as a nurse in Nigeria and wants to become a pharmacist. There is mention of a baby boy being born, Simon. After the family falls on rough times, the wife takes the baby to Dallas!! As in Texas.

Is any of this ringing any bells???

So, if I have this correct, Simon Jr. was reunited with his father at the Kansas City mission, where his father had sought help for drug abuse and homelessness. His father went on to become pastor of the church affiliated with the mission. Simon also has a brother (most likely the man who commented on Topix).

Here's my question. What happened to Simon when his mother, AA, took him to live in Dallas? Did he possibly enter foster care there or could there be other connections? I wonder if they lived with her extended family? The story says that the child was simply dropped off at the mission to live with his dad. The dad is currently 54 and Simon is 21. I find the mom and dad at different addresses in KC.

This tells us that Angilda Jr. pleaded guilty to Attempted Robbery in the First Degree and was assigned 3 years of probation on May 26, 2009. I don't understand why it says that this sentence was completed on September 8, 2009 as that doesn't compute. Possibly, he was arrested again? But would it say that he had completed the probation?

Going back to what we know of the Texas Serial Rapist, he was quiet from January 2009 through July 2009. The uninvolved man, a Mr. M, was arrested in March and held through May when DNA cleared him. I don't recall any attacks between January and May. Does anyone else? Could the rapist have been in court in Kansas City? Need some help over here!!

Post #240 on page 10 of this thread by IWannaKnow has the best timeline I've found. I think it's very sad that when one researches the Texas serial rapist, the primary information which comes up links back to WS. Are the Texas Rangers still on this?

I just can't get over the fact that if a person thinks they might remember something odd, they'd have to find our site to research it. The Texas news media and the Texas Rangers have not broken a sweat to get the pertinent info and dates out to the public, IMO.

I will make a formal apology to the Rangers if something is going down behind the scenes.

MissIzzy, thank you so much for finding this possible suspect! I think you are right on in your speculation. It does seem that our small-town Texas police departments are not making much progress with this case. I think they need your help! Who is a person supposed to call with a tip in a case such as this?

I wonder if this perp deliberately choose victims in small towns because they don't have as much expertise in investigating this type of crime? The items he takes could be some kind of game for him -- like leaving a clue to taunt police by stealing similar items, just to see if they notice it's him again.

If Simon is our guy, he's gone off the deep end. This crime was committed very differently than the Texas ones. He's lost his stealthiness. He was still attacking when LE arrived!!I wonder if true mental illness is setting in or he wanted to be stopped. If you'll listen to the "re-enactment" of his father's story, you'll see that he had a problem with addiction. I wonder if Simon could also. His father still runs a Recovery mission in the KC area. There are a few details left out of the "re-enactment", however.

To be very honest, I feel biased. This man fits the description I've had in my head in from the very first. Seemingly bright, good looking, smooth talking, slight accent, comfortable with elders (through working with his dad), comfortable at church, and the odd piano angle. Notice that he's not into rap but Gershwin. I see no social network connection which I find odd.

If you'll look at some of the photos of his mother (on her meet-up site/not hard to find), she looks like a very light skinned black woman. I wonder if Simon had a smaller white woman as a grandmother or caregiver back in Texas, thus his choice of victims.

Because the name is Nigerian and quite unique, he's pretty easy to find. Could he be the guy???

The girfriend's comment is the first one on the page, and she wrote a mini-bio of their relationship. Very informative! I wish we could talk to her! She sounds like a very nice young lady; truly appalled at his criminal behavior, and broken-hearted.

I asked my H if local LE in the towns the rapist has struck would see yhe Missourri arrest in a database, he said that they use a Texas database, so they won't see the one in Missourri. He suggests sending an e-mail with all the links, copied to each jurisdiction involved. If they have any DNA, they can check for a match if they put in this fellow's info.

This guy is the right age to be going to college...wonder if he ever went to University of Texas in Austin? Justthinkin, who did you send your tip to? The craiglist thing sounds hinky to me!

Whoooa - your profile on the TSR & lots of other potential characteristics we'd tossed all tossed around are pretty much found in this creep!!!....and I found another posting by the "ex-girlfriend" who says "the issue was mainly his unquenchable thirst to steal" and that's why she couldn't be with him for long..and she said he stole stuff & money to fuel his drug & gambling habits...and the cars he drove were stolen. Guess a sicko like this has plenty of time on his hands, altho it's weird that if he were from the Kansas or Dallas area he'd end up as far south as Luling...if he wanted to just attack elderly women in small KS/TX towns goodness knows there's plenty closer, right? (Who knows tho - maybe he likes to get in the car & just drive & drive til he finds a "suitable" small town where no one, including LE knows him).
