And to add to this if the truck was parked haphazard in the road as the trucker said, why would Deputy N just lock it up and turn on the hazard lights and leave it til 8am? I find that odd too. Maybe there are no tow trucks at night out there? LOL I don't know!

Now that does seem totally bizarre. I have never seen LE do that. You would think he would have put out either orange cones or even a flare. Makes no sense.

Ok, so y'all know the noise you hear when the 911 operator is saying hello... hello... could that be his breathing? I know someone has said that they thought it sounded like a car driving by.

I though somewhere someone posted a map or google map link to where the truck was found and the picnic area, etc. I can't seem to find it now and I think I'm a little confused about exactly where all of this took place. Is there a map or coordinate? Thanks!

It's .9 miles south of the colorado river. You can see a long driveway going to the west and one going to the northeast. Hope that helps.

(I had posted a map pages back but removed it because it was showing my email address. It was the rest area which is south of the truck, so it was not the exact truck location. I was able to get an exact location from the search map provided by the Observer and matching it up to google maps)

Ok don't throw tomatoes at me: I woke up this morning with this young man on my mind, and my first thought was "this could very well have been staged".

That would explain the lack of information from friends and family. It would explain the seeming lack of interest on the part of law enforcement.

Brandon had felony warrants. And yes it would be cruel and misguided to do to his children, but so is dealing drugs.

This has been discussed from the beginning. I thought this myself before I listened to the 911 call, but after listening to it 30-40 times, I truly think something has happened to him and LE should search back towards San Angelo more. JMO

No harm done and you won't find any tomatoes in my hands!

Here is a map showing the area that was searched around the vehicle and the rest/picnic area. It also shows more detail of where the truck was in relation to the rest area. It doesn't look like they searched too far north of the truck location and concentrated more south/east/west.

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...769.1073741828.507707495977361&type=1&theater

Bringing this forward for techpuppy. Here's the search map. Match it up to google maps .9 miles south of the Colorado River and you have your truck location.

And from what LL is saying the new detailed ping/gps area is 3 miles from the truck and not in an area previously searched. That would be just about into Bronte going north and to FM 2662 to the south. It could be east or west too though.

I'm new to reading up on this case, so please forgive me if this has been discussed, but it sounds like on the 911 call, he says, "I'm in the middle of a field", but then it also sounds like he says something like "They're chasing me into the woods" or someone is going "into the woods"? I also hear something about "the first guy", possibly. This is all SO strange. He sounds so out of breath to me on the call, so I really think someone (or multiple people) were after him or he was scared of them for some reason. I hope they find answers soon.

Him hitting someone, but then running out of gas seems so strange to me, though. What are the odds that both incidents would occur? If he had just hit someone, I could see that person (or people) becoming violent (my husband and I just recently had a guy point a gun at us from his car because we weren't going fast enough for him), but he hit someone AND ran out of gas?? Is it possible he hit them and then tried to run from the accident, ran out of gas and they caught up with him? But then why wouldn't the other people just report the accident? Weird.

Great questions. I hear the words "in fact I got the first guy", but no one else seems to hear that here. Running into someone could not have been a bad accident because there was no damage to his truck. I do think he had been chased closer to San Angelo and that is why he left town low on gas. When he ran out of gas, whoever had been chasing him (maybe from Walmart) caught up with him and "chased him into the woods". The 911 call definitely has 2 people on it. I think a third caught up to them and they did Brandon harm.

I just had a thought that went along with the rumor... What if he was being chased... Could that explain why he was out on that road and ran out of gas (Not sure where walmart is)? If he was scared he probably wouldn't have paid attention to his fuel gage. It would make sense of the way he pulled off the road if he was in a hurry. Then he took off to hide?

Just saying my thoughts out loud.

this is pretty much what I think might have happened Mrs. g. I drive this road often. I never leave San Angelo without plenty of gas because Bronte is the only place to get gas until you reach Abilene 90+ miles away. You just do not run off without gas. We are talking 35 miles. That is 2-3 gallons of gas in most trucks at 17 miles to the gallon. He had to be very low on gas when he left his house.

Another thing that makes me think he was doing something in San Angelo after leaving his house is the fact that is doesn't take from 11:53 when he left his house to 12:38 when he ran out of gas to go 35 miles. That highway has a speed limit of 75 miles/hr. You get from anywhere in San Angelo to Stripes in Bronte in 20-25 minutes at most. Brandon was 45 minutes. What was he doing for the other 15-20 minutes?

I really can't see how he got 3 miles from the truck. That is a long ways in the pitch black of night not knowing what obstacles are in your way. I wonder if he was killed then taken somewhere. I know walking in the day time 3 miles is not that far but there wasn't even moonlight that night. There are trees and fences and who knows what else out there.

My initial impression was I heard a car drive by and I thought Brandon wasn't saying anything because he was afraid someone would hear him. I think techpuppy said that was really sounds from the recording device or something like that. I don't hear him hang up and some say they have heard what they think is whispering saying "I can't talk", but I cannot hear that part.

Okay, going by the link to "The Observer/Enterprise" search map I matched up the image enough to locate what area they were showing. It is south of Bronte. The truck was at or near an intersection on 277. The picnic area is south. Attached is an image showing the location of the truck according to the search map, a circle indicating the approximate distance a person would cover in 10 minutes if they were walking 3 miles per hour. And an outline of the previous search area according to LE. As you can see if Brandon walked 10 minutes north of his vehicle he would not have been in the search area.

The very approximate coordinates are 31.834326,-100.291811 where the truck was found. I'm basing this solely on the map from "The Observer/Enterprise."

I think I read somewhere that Deputy Neal pushed the truck over, turned on the flashers and locked the vehicle. Not positive, but pretty sure several pages back that is what I read.....

Hmmm...I don't remember reading anything about pushing the truck over. I don't suppose you could find that? If not, no biggie. I just haven't seen that.

Nice map! The search seemed to be more concentrated to the south, east and west. I don't know if there was a reason for this though there must have been. Is there any way you can add to this map 3 miles out in all directions? I'm curious how far away that ping detail could be.

I also read somewhere once that they searched an area near the river but I have no details.

And your coordinates are right on with the search map from the Observer. It's pretty detailed so I'm going to guess it's accurate.

I'm a newbie here, but I need to share my opinion. I have been reading the posts from the Find BL page and one person posted on the September 19, 2013 a comment which I found odd that she placed herself there when BL went missing. I also found it very ironic that her husbands first and last name sounds very similar to State Trooper. Her husband works in the oil field and the more I listen to the 911 tape. In my opinion, BL says I'm in oil field. "He ran into them." Could it be they ran into him at a store and something went wrong and he met with foul play?

From the statement below, I also think it's odd to say, since I know CPR I was going to stop and help. As well as the statement she made after seeing a vehicle on the side of the road, she wanted to call 911. I see cars on the side of the road at night a lot and I have never once felt the need to stop and perform CPR, much less call 911. Maybe call LE and alert them of a someone in distress, but she only saw a vehicle, no people were seen.

After a little research, I realized, her husband made a Facebook page on August 12, 2013. Three days after BL went missing. Another strange coincidence is that another person also posted things about BL and being prior friends and this same girl is friends or a sister to he and his brother. I don't know how much I can reveal but I hope someone checks this out. Just too many coincidences in my opinion.

This is the comment made by SAT:
"ok so i was on that road tghat night i saw a truck looked to be maybe browm or charcoal facing towards angelo off tje side of the road i was on the phone.with my mom as i passed.it being cpr certified i wanted to stop but just finding out i was pregnate i didn't instead i slowed down did not see anyone and asked my mom to call pd so we hung up and she did cuz i didn't have the num and didn't want to call 911while driving and try to make a report but she did and as i retirned to angelo the truck was still there ? but the truck i saw was pulled off the road at a wierd angle almost lije they would if they were gonna turn maybe like 60 degree angle pointing the front of tge truck towsrds the brush might not be significant but if helpful in finding this man its a blessing my cousin was missibg too two years back but we got an anseer"

Bbm, Is this a comment on a post on 9/19? If so, I don't see any posts on that day.

Here's a wider view which shows the original search area, etc. I've added blue circles indicated 1, 2, and 3 miles from Brandon's truck. The bridge over the Colorado river starts just less than half a mile north of his truck. I can't imagine Brandon walking across that bridge in the dark, but I suppose it could happen.

You didn't have to delete it! Maybe someone else saw it and can provide more details?

Does anyone know if the old state school building on 277 is occupied or has another business moved in to the building? I haven't listened to the 911 call tech puppy posted but when I've listened to the others I never really heard "state trooper". I mean eventually I did but it was because it was in my head from reading everyone's comments as to what they heard. Idk why but I hear either "a preacher just pulled some guys over" "I'm not talking to them, they're chasing a guy into the woods & the got the other guy". Or "a state worker just pulled some guys over". With B not being from that area he may not have known the state school was closed, I didn't even know there was one there until I was following google maps up hwy 277 & noticed the bldg there. I had to look up what it was & found out it was a state run youth jail/state school. So maybe someone in some kind of uniform was flagging some guys down & B just happened to run outta gas at the wrong place & time.
Don't get me wrong though, I feel in my gut that his brother, brother's gf & possibly his wife know more than they're saying. But I'm trying to keep my mind open to other scenarios as well. IMO the wife is doing just enough in her attempts to find him, but not enough to actually find him. I have seen on FB numerous people, including myself, offer help, people offer to contact the land owners theirselves, people post links to volunteer search groups & people who've told her they've contacted these search groups who are ready willing & able to come & search but it HAS to be LADESSA who submits the request, & as far as I know none of these people including me have been contacted. Or I've seen people offer only to be told to stay out of it it's none of their business. Searches are regularly set up but are also cancelled regularly because the landowners won't give permission, the LE won't cooperate, the weather, no one volunteered etc.... I don't think the ENTIRE TOWN & COUNTY are in some strange conspiracy plot to hide this man. I mean I think if I were in her shoes I'd bug them so much it'd be there main priority to do everything possible to find my husband just to get me to leave them alone. I'd be a fixture in their offices with all my kids there with me, changing diapers on their desks, every single day, they'd be sick of me!
