Hm. Maybe it's different in west vs east Texas? I'm in east Texas and I never hear anyone say 'highway patrol' it's usually just "A trooper" or "The troopers". The term could also be different because some people will try to speak more 'accurately' on a 911/police call verses what they would normally say to a friend. Not intentionally just your brain saying to be more formal. Just a thought.

True. I'm originally from East Texas. But out West it's rarely said that way, and it's been years since I've been back home. You have a point, though.

Not saying this with 100% certainty, but being Texas born and raised as is/was Brandon, the term "state trooper" isn't a commonly used one for describing the DPS officers in the black and whites. You're usually going to hear them referred to as "highway patrol" no matter what division they are in. In Texas, if they are in any kind of black and white, they're the highway patrol. State trooper isn't a commonly used term here, especially for someone raised here. It happens, of course, but it's not the norm.

What type of situation could a person run into out there late at night?
Brandon says he is in the middle of a field but then talks about the woods.
I have no idea why he was in the field and locals would have a better idea of what goes on in the area. He says he "accidentally ran into them/him."

No, I'm further west in the sand and cactus. I've driven through the area he supposedly disappeared from, but it's been a few years.

My take on the 911 call. (Fresh ears with no bias and all that)

"*Unknown*(I hear "Skyper", but he is slurring his words) just pushed some guys over clear out here going towards Abilene on both sides." (to me this means either there were two cars going opposite directions on the road while he was going toward Abilene. Someone came down the middle and pushed both cars to either side. OR a vehicle wove back and forth over both sides to push another car off the road)

"My truck ran out of gas. There's one car here, got chased to the woods." (There is another car besides his truck there. I got the feeling he and another person got chased into the woods. A guy who owns a truck does NOT call it a car.)

"And when I was talking to him, guy totally ran into him." (Brandon's truck had already run out of gas and he was waiting for his brother. A car got run off the road, Brandon got out to see if the person in the car was OK, and while he was talking to him, the vehicle that ran the car off the road came back and either hit the car, the car's driver or passenger, or all three. Brandon also was injured-hence the bleeding reported to his brother later)

Dispatcher says "Oh you ran into him?" Brandon says "No, the first guy."

That's what I got out of it, anyway.

This is one of the best theories I have seen in this case. I have followed it from the beginning. Good work. Most of the time I am convinced he was not alone also. I think he ran into some trouble in town and he and someone else were chased in the truck until he ran out of gas and then the person chasing them turned around and came back for them to do them harm.

all cars today have a light that comes on some time before you actually run out of gas. Either he was so inebriated that he did not notice it or he was running for his life. Its one or the other IMHO.

Yep and you might want to look up Texas law as to WHO can get a 911 call. That will answer alot of the questions here

General question- you know Investigators look at FB and forums for clues. So when they see some one out partying all the time and asking for money, do you think that throws up a red flag? Maybe LE feels like the partying people real don't have a huge concern in his whereabouts. Yes you need to carry on with your life but sometimes one can go over the top IMO. Maybe let's scale back the parties, eating out and drinking and put that money to finding Brandon and stop asking for it. Sorry this has been 3 weekends in a row

My point exactly. And it also states they can not have full call. It's kind of like Kenny Rogers song "you got to know when to hold 'Em, know when to fold Em, know when to walk away and know when to run, you never count your money while you are sitting at the table." Why would LE throw those cards out?
I have a theory on the call- the proper person was given the call and let some one listen to it and the rustling noise is from the call being recoded in a coat pocket. Ponder on that

And I agree a person has to live & have a life but IMO there is more to life than bars & partying. I guess it comes with age & I'm just way too old to want to go to the bar & or party.

I don't know. I hear her Abilene plain as day. To me, personally, that's one of the few things that I don't have any doubts about on the call. But that's just what my ears hear.

I agree it just doesn't make sense he would not stop for gas before heading out on 277. Its been rumored he was being chased after stopping at Walmart. Its a little hard to stop for gas when your being chased though. Also if he was being chased and ran out of gas those looking for him would know he was on foot somewhere in the area. Makes a lot of sense.

Could Brandon have run 10 minutes up the road in the time frame given if he was running for his life?
