I agree that the tape is most likely edited. Sounds like a name/word might be removed at the "chasing ___ the woods" part. Or I could be hearing things.

If this is the entire call, the 9-11 operator did a horrific job of getting his name and basic information. This is not how most 9-11 calls go IMO. If he was just trying to escape and run from the warrant, I don't understand why he'd call 9-11 and ask for a cop. That's the only part that confuses me about the "on the run" theory. I don't know whether he or his family would be clever enough to pull off some sort of intricate setup. I sure wouldn't. Then again, I guess you'd only need to be smarter than the cops...which probably isn't saying much!

Sounds like the family's official version of events has changed many times. I wasn't aware of that. Too bad we don't have a comprehensive list of all the discrepancies that have been spotted over the years! Seems like it would be pretty lengthy...

Really makes you wonder why go to the small town sheriff's office in Coke Cty rather than the much larger LE in San Angelo, mind you that is the town they lived in & the last known town he was supposedly physically seen, mind you by the gf. That has been the one burning question from the get go! How in the hell did she know that she needed to contact Coke Cty SO?? Not knowing where B was actually going but somehow knew he'd go THAT way & end up in THAT county! Not one other person has ever come forward to date stating that Brandon was in fact seen that day or that night. No family, no friends, no co-workers, NO ONE!!! And it was originally posted the day he went missing that he never came home from work, hence the reason so many followers on HFBL continue to think this case has something to do with other missing "oilfield workers", which as far as I can tell it has NOTHING to do with the oilfield.

It was said early on that he was seen at Walmart after their fight took place before he broke down, but to date I've never seen any proof of that. I think she called that Sheriff's department because that's where his truck was found abandoned and where the officer who responded and locked up his truck worked. I'm thinking she got the info from Brandon's brother as to who to follow up with. I agree the whole story has many holes and has changed more times than I can even recall.

I guess I missed where it was said he never returned from work. I've been following the story from the beginning and don't recall that version. Where did you read that? I'm not doubting it, as it appears no one that's close to Brandon and has come forward has told the same version of events from day 1.

It was on one of the local area trading post pages or a garage sale page but was deleted VERY quick, like within hours. That's where I first read anything about Brandon & I remember thinking how strange it was & told my husband "Your spouse doesn't come home after work & isn't answering your calls/texts, your the first thing you do is go looking for him on garage sale pages! What if he was working in an area where there isn't a signal or he's busy working or went for a beer with the guys?" It was just weird to see a post like that on there & I was telling my friend about it after seeing it then went back to find it so I could screenshot it & show her & it was g-o-n-e! I wish I woulda screenshot it when I first saw it but that was before we all learned that lesson the hard way [emoji12]

I too heard the Walmart scenario but from what I know from first following, it has never been confirmed nor denied.

I quit following the HFBL page awhile back, I got sick & tired of all the drama, name calling & hatefulness, so unless it's posted here on WS I haven't heard anything new! [emoji12]

I don't follow the page anymore, there are those loyal ones who if you go against what they believe you are called every name in the book and banned. I don't have time for the child antics. Someone needs to speak up before the case goes cold. I mean wasn't that a question in an interview, when will it go cold? Weird question to ask

Maybe he went out partying, came home later high, then they fought about him using and he took off again? I know LL told me that their fight happened when he came home under the influence and the argument got heated as he had been clean.
I really don't know. Just tossing out ideas.

I was wondering what time as well. Was it posted earlier In the evening before their big fight took place & he left and then was said to be missing the next morning? Or was it posted after the abandoned truck was found? Just curious.

It was on a FB page that advertises thing you may sell at a garage sale. And it had to have been prior to their argument because I remember thinking it wasn't THAT late to be freaking out that her husband who works in the oilfield wasn't home yet. I'm sorry if my above post was confusing. I was thinking faster than I could type I guess. And if I hadn't seen that post with my own eyes I would question it too.

No I think that was the only way she thought or knew to get the word out to the public in a timely manner, and maybe because it was local to San Angelo & surrounding area. Some people do it here in the town I live in when they lose their pet or wallet/purse, phones, stolen vehicles & there have been posters of missing people posted, mostly kids. Just a way to get attention to their particular situation I guess. Idk why it's called a garage sale page when it has much more than just used items for sale.

Would anyone be kind enough to give me a very basic rundown of the new updates in this case? I remember when it first happened and it seemed like a dead end trying to decipher that phone call (which I think was definitely edited, anyway). Then I recall that his wife was under some suspicion because something like she lied about what he was wearing and his sobriety level? If anyone has a moment, please fill me in!! I wish he had a Wiki page

She said he didn't come home from work, but then changed her story stating he had camo shorts and a shirt, but then changed it again stating that he grabbed those clothes before leaving

Since most of LL's comments we have been discussing were on a page that has deleted them, it is difficult to assume what and when something transpired. I think someone stated she posted on the garage sale page BEFORE he finally came home that day and then they argued and he left. I believe he took some clothes with him that were later found in the truck. It is confusing, but he either left in the clothes that were found in the truck, which means he changed clothes somewhere. OR the clothes he picked up were found in the truck when they got it back.

I believe this case is still open, but has no one working it unless something new comes up. I also think the deputies who were present that evening have all moved on with the exception of the sheriff and he has stated no further searches will be done unless something new arises.

I also believe the Texas Rangers were involved. They are probably watching his SS# for any sign of usage. Other than that, I don't think there is much they can do at this point except harass the family about details and we don't know if they have done that or not.

Brandon's case will be solved when someone accidently comes across his body, or some other clue or person comes forward with information. Otherwise it is a wait and see.

I followed the Hailey Dunn case almost from day one. (It's the case that brought me to Websleuth's and I have been hooked ever since!) There were people searching for her daily then every weekend from the start and she was found 2 years later by someone looking for arrowheads. I think it is going to take something like that to find Brandon because I truly think he is no longer alive. He just hasn't been found because whoever did this hid his body well and those involved are certainly not going to tell. Would you tattle on yourself if you killed someone?

I'm torn, in a way I wonder if he thought "dang screw this, I'm tired of fighting, she is possessive (which it kind of sounds that way if she was posting in garage sale sites before he was even missing) and when she confronted him over using that was it, he was done" and he left her. There are so many stories out there like that.
As for him being dead, very good possibility, and if he is, I think he was killed by someone close to him.
I agree with the Hailey Dunn, they were out pushing for information, actively looking. I'm not sure this is happening with this case.

For the record, I don't think LL caused B's disappearance. But I'm just one person.

Sadly, family members are often the first to be questioned or suspected in cases like these because they're closest to the missing person. You're more likely to be harmed by someone you know than a total stranger. Doesn't mean family members are always guilty by any means. But this is why it's so vital to have a consistent story, especially in the digital age. Inconsistencies cause doubt.

I'd love for LL or anyone else who knew Brandon to address some of the questions posted here. It could help both the case itself and the reputation of those accused of changing their stories. Win-win.
