The remains found in 2022 are confirmed to be Brandon's

(UPDATE)Merry Christmas to our wonderful and amazing community. A few years ago we posted the photo you see here in hopes that Brandon would soon be returned to us. We can now say that that Christmas wish will soon be fulfilled. A few days ago the Texas Ranger in charge of Brandon's case called with the news that our family has been waiting for since early 2022. The Laboratory was finally able to confirm that the human remains found in February 2022 ARE in fact those of Brandon Lawson. We can finally after 11 years bring Brandon home and lay him to rest with his family. While the news does bring heartbreak. It also does bring a small amount of peace. On this day 2024 years ago our Lord and Savior Jesus entered this world to save us (Luke 2:10-11). And we smile knowing that Brandon is celebrating this day watching over us. We want to thank each and every single one of you for your love, prayers, and support over these past 11 years. You have helped carry us through this journey. We wish you a merry Christmas. Enjoy your time with loved ones and hold them close. Life is precious.

We love you Brandon You are always in our hearts forever.

All our love and gratitude Ladessa and the Lawson family.

I followed Brandon’s case since he was first reported missing.
This news has been a long time coming.
My heartfelt sympathies to his partner, children & family. Only 26 yrs old when he left their lives….a tragedy.

Rest in Peace Brandon Lawson

I can't believe it took 2 years to confirm what we all knew, that these remains were indeed Brandon. Rest peacefully Brandon. I am glad that his family has the comfort and can now officially bring him home.

Why was the police so insistent they don't search the properties near where he was last seen?

Because they cannot get permission from the landowners......which I call BS. I'm from the area and most people in this area are hard working ranchers and farmers and would do anything. I think it might have been LE just making excuses because they feli BL was a druggie....JMO tho.

No matter what a person did in life (murder being an exception) they deserve to be sent off with a farewell and for their loved ones to have closure.

I agree. Bronte is a very small town in a very small county. The Sheriff was not particularly interested in helping. IIRC he was of the mindset Brandon had run off to get out from under the warrant for his arrest. Hindsight is 20/20 and that was not the case. I wish someone could find out what happened. I personally feel it started in San Angelo. I think he was running from some drug deal gone wrong in San Angelo and that's why he left town. When he ran out of gas he was chased into a field and they found him and killed him. Just my 2 cents worth! He did deserve more in life.

'In an update posted Christmas Day on the ‘Help Find Brandon Lawson’ Facebook page, Ladessa, Lawson’s wife, and the Lawson family released the partial human remains found in February 2022 are in fact Lawson’s.

The post says the DNA laboratory tests confirmed this and the Texas Ranger in charge of the case called a few days before the holiday to give the family the news.'

My curiosity is where were these remains found ... I have followed this case for many years. Supposedly they search the area that was close by

I listened to that 911 call so many times, his voice is ingrained in my head.

His remains were located on the east side of highway 277, which would have been the same side of the road he was traveling on. I believe they were found pretty far off the road and towards the back of the land. That property had never been searched if I remember correctly. A friend of Brandon's from high school took it upon himself to really look into where Brandon might be and he was the one who found the remains. The story is somewhere in this thread I think and it is a very interesting story how his friend has worked so hard to find him. I also have followed this case from the beginning and I am so glad he has been found.......now SOMEONE needs to find out what happened!

Finally!!

Brandon Lawson's family finds closure after 11-year search with remains returned

Lawson disappeared in the early hours of Aug. 9, 2013, after running out of gas along Highway 277 south of Bronte. His truck was found abandoned, and he made a mysterious 911 call indicating he was in a field and being chased, before vanishing. Human remains identified as Lawson's were found in February 2022, and DNA confirmation was announced in late 2024.

My Perspective on Brandon Lawson's Untimely Death.

After learning about Brandon Lawson's disappearance and the circumstances surrounding that tragic night, as someone who has walked a similar path, I feel compelled to share what I believe really happened that night.

It's been revealed that Brandon had struggled with meth use but had been clean for six months before his disappearance. What many people don't realize is that when someone returns to using meth after an extended period of sobriety, their brain reacts almost as if they're using the substance for the first time. The tolerance they once had is largely gone, making them extraordinarily vulnerable to severe psychological effects, including psychosis.

Meth-induced psychosis is a frightening and very real condition. Imagine the feeling of being trapped inside your mind, and wanting nothing more than to escape. It can cause intense paranoia, auditory and visual hallucinations, and profound confusion about reality. People experiencing this kind of psychosis often believe they're being chased or threatened, even when no actual danger exists. They may speak in ways that seem nonsensical to others because their perception of reality has become so distorted.

When I listen to Brandon's 911 call, his disjointed words and apparent terror make heartbreaking sense. He sounds genuinely afraid and confused, describing threats that may have existed only in his altered state of consciousness. The fear in his voice is real, even if what he was experiencing wasn't based in reality.

Understanding the role that psychosis may have played doesn't solve the mystery what ultimately happened to him, but it does provide a compassionate framework for understanding his final known moments.

I am so glad that his family has been able to lay him at peace, and to finally have some closure.

Peace
