His bail is set at more than a $1 million and includes an unrelated charge of burglary of a habitation.

In a hearing Thursday, 105th District Judge Jack Pulcher granted three motions filed by Joseph Tejeda's defense attorneys, including one which will give them information on any plea deals struck for information in the case.

Defense attorneys and prosecutors agreed to go to trial in late October or early November.
The man accused of killing 21-year-old Breanna Wood is set to go to trial early next year.
In a hearing Thursday before 105th District Judge Jack Pulcher, Joseph Tejeda was given a Jan. 22, 2018 trial date. A docket call was set for Jan. 18.
In addition to new charges for Tejeda, who now faces capital murder, a grand jury indicted six others for crimes related to Woods death.
Sandra Vasquez, 42, was charged with capital murder, engaging in organized criminal activity and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
Christopher John Gonzalez, 28, who is wanted, was charged with capital murder and engaging in organized criminal activity.
Gregorio Rolando Cruz, 37, Magdalena Yvette Carvajal, 33, and Tejeda's mother Rosalinda Musella, 47, were charged with tampering with physical evidence. Carvajal and Musella are both wanted.
Theodore Allen, AKA Ted Allen, 65, was charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
On Wednesday, a woman who could face the death penalty for crimes related to Wood's death appeared in the 105th District Court before Judge Jack Pulcher, who assigned attorneys to defend her. Later, friends gathered at the home of Fallon Wood, Breanna's mother, for a candlelight vigil.
