Oh, my. That road looks horrible! Just by looking at the map, it appears there’s a lot of water around Log Cabin. That’s still my #1 theory. However, there’s always theory #2 that the ex had nefarious intent and did something to end her life. I hope she’s found safe very soon. I’d be delighted to be wrong about both of my theories. jmo

I agree, the road does look terrible. Dark and scary at night.
The place looks abandoned.

Oh, wow. I usually do get attached to the body-of-water theory, but this feels incredibly like a domestic angle. id look at the “estranged boyfriend” more closely and question the woman he said he was with. I really hope they search his property sooner rather than later.

I know we can't name him, but has anyone seen the boy friends name on social media? I looked and no one jumped out at me. I wonder if he is helping to get her face out to the public?

I really hope the family gets a 'missing page' started, soon. I have family in the area and they hadn't heard about Lizbeth being missing. :(

Missing woman last seen in Log Cabin, sister says

She supposedly called her ex about 20 times before going to his residence. That’s excessive, but I have SO been that woman before. (Ikr, it happens to the best of us.) I reacted much like she did, minus going to his residence. If I had gone to his home like Brenda did, it would’ve upset me even more to find another woman there. If I’d had a beer or 2, my emotions would be heightened. It would be incredibly easy to hurt yourself while in despair, intentionally or accidentally. With her car not being found, that leads me to think of the water more. I’d love to think she just took off and is clearing her head for a while. I don’t really think that’s the case, though. The ex DEFINITELY needs to be closely interrogated. Surely, LE has done that...let’s hope. I just wish she’d be found safe. I can hope, even if there’s only a sliver of a chance for it to be true. All JMO.

I fear what you fear. Especially ith no car. It's been 2 weeks and no contact with her family does not sound good.

Missing Texas Woman Last Seen Leaving Party to Visit Boyfriend: Family

[...]

Montanez called the police after she arrived at his house, saying she refused to leave. The call was made at 2:45 a.m.

She was never seen by anyone else after leaving the party.

The boyfriend is cooperating with investigators, Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse told NBC DFW.

Montanez’s sister Jessica Montanez claimed that when her sister arrived at her boyfriend’s house, he wouldn’t let her in because another woman was inside his house.

“She was at a barbecue party in Addison. She left to see her boyfriend. He didn’t open the door because another female was at the home,” she told the Athens Review. “He told us that he wasn’t with her all weekend. But then he said that Brenda did go over to his house and that he didn’t open the door for her.”

She said that an investigator pinged her sister’s phone and that it was located in New York.

“He asked my mom if my sister had any reason to go to New York. She said, ‘No.’ She is very close to my mom. If she were going anywhere, she would have let my mom know,” she added.

Oh gosh. No word from Brenda yet makes me wary. It sounds like he wasn’t expecting her. I mean, otherwise why chance being caught with your pants down. That probably means she was suspect while driving there, working herself up the whole way if she’s like me. I’m leaning toward water since the cops sound convinced of the bf’s story. That’s some mighty rough karma lesson for this young man. I’d imagine he’s traumatized and feeling awful for putting her in this predicament by being a dog.

UGH, grrr I am so mad for her. Men can be.....
So I wonder if the police went to the cabin?
Is it possible that she left then came back after 30 min-1 hr. then an altercation happened? all speculation. People should not play with other's emotion. When we are hurt, who knows what we are capable of when emotions get overwhelming.

all moo of an overreacting mind.

Perhaps he doesn't consider himself her boyfriend. It looks like he didn't want to have anything to do with her and this was a one-way relationship. He didn't go to the party with her. We don't know how long he had a relationship with the mother of his child, but it may have been for a while.

Brenda called him 20 times. That's obsessive. Then he set the cops on her because it was 3:00 in the morning and she wouldn't leave his house. I fear for her well-being, but I'm not blaming the man for refusing to let her inside. It wasn't a social hour, and besides, there may have been a child asleep in the house.

Officials from multiple agencies continue to search for Brenda Montanez, but investigators have little information on the case.

“DPS did bring in a helicopter for us,” Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said. “We were flying in a radius where we got the last-known location of her phone. So we were trying to search that area for her and her vehicle from the air — places we might not be able to see on the ground. We are still working with Log Cabin, the Texas Rangers and the DA's office. We are doing what we can to find her.”

This is deeply saddening.

My heart goes out to Brenda's family during this unfathomable time.

Hoping and praying that the authorities find some answers as to where she is.

Is there any way she had a mental breakdown and is actually in New York??

I suppose it could have played out like that, but he would have had to get out of bed, get dressed, etc. It's just such a lot of bother to orchestrate a murder and disappearance, when he simply could have hit redial on his phone.

Do I understand correctly that she hadn't been seen for a week before she was reported missing?
