I'm not linking the report since it's extremely graphic. Why did they release it to the public?

Most likely a recent immigrant. So sad. Brooks County has a mobile morgue, to deal with the many deaths related to the heat. Brooks County sees high case of migrant deaths as result of intense heat conditions, 48 bodies recovered so far
The bodies of 48 undocumented migrants have been recovered in their brush country.
Summer officially started this week with the heat index over 100.
The Brooks County Sheriff's Office said this season will be a long one for them and the undocumented immigrants traveling on foot through thick brush.

Almost everyday, the body of an undocumented immigrant is recovered in the brush lands of Brooks County.”

I really don’t get why they revealed the pictures of the way they found her. It has no purpose in indentifying her due to decomposition + her loved ones need to have the choise if they want to see her in that way or not.
Second of all: if you search her first name + the first of her last names, you find a profile with a lot of ‘friends/followers’ with her last name.
Did they even try to find her relatives before they posted her online without any dignity?
I think this is a shame for this poor girl/woman and her loved ones, but then again i’m not from the USA. JMO

It’s the complete police report on her discovery that was loaded into NamUs. I don‘t think it was meant to be seen by the general public. Might have been a mistake by whoever entered her case in the system.

The true crime here is since 2019, it is a felony to leave or give water to immigrants. Whatever your beliefs, it is a humane gesture to save lives, it puts people who live in that area in a horrible dilemma to be charged with a felony to just give water to dying men, women and children.

In what state(s) is it a felony to "leave or give water to immigrants"?

I think humanitarian aid should be offered. But entering and using a national wildlife refuge for that purpose without a permit has been prosecuted.

Is that what you are referring to?
