I found a man with his name on FB from Guatemala who looks just like him. Not sure if I’m allowed to link that here? What do you guys think about the photo comparison?John doe found on 10/10/22 in Brooks County on Palo Blanco Ranch. Identification from Guatemala stating name Juan Pablo Avila. I feel fairly confident, I’m gonna go for the submission while I wait to see if I hear back from his contacts. And I think you are right about this one too! MOO JMO
I noticed there was one person reacting to his photos with a sad emoji... His wife doesn't have any posts about him being missing or having passed away. I think the best thing to do is to contact the agency handling the case. If the family and/or friends are not seeking info on SM, contacting them is not the step to take. Wow, so have they connected the two cases yet to your knowledge?Found this: Desaparecidos En La Frontera
I believe they have.Wow, so have they connected the two cases yet to your knowledge?
I hope they have some closure at least knowing.I believe they have.
Apparently, this poor man was reported missing shortly after crossing the border. He was last heard of in McAllen.
His wife was sent a photo of him, from behind, walking in a field. She didn't say who sent the photo though... Do "coyotes" send photos? Was it taken by someone "traveling" with him?
In the photo, he was carrying a backpack and was wearing two necklaces... In the comments, his wife stated he was wearing two rosaries and a ring with the "Our Father" prayer. None of these items are listed on NamUs.

This is so sad... My prayers to his wife and kids.
Migrante guatemalteco desapareció luego de cruzar la frontera en Texas

I doubt coyotes would take a photo, I wonder who else he’d been traveling with.
Seems like these cases where someone dies crossing the border are so common it’s not even really news here![]()
