Condolences to the Harris family. Those of us who have followed this case all hoped for a different outcome. We got to know Caleb a bit and those who frequent this site cared about and had a concern for Caleb. The family can now lean on their faith to help them through this difficult time.

LE won't tell his family the person found is him until it's confirmed by dental records or DNA. A clothing match could theoretically (although not likely) be a staged scene or coincidence. So I guess his family still doesn't "know," but that's just my opinion.

The family was told days ago....before the statement. It was mentioned on the official fb page that they knew. I do not post rumors.

I think the flooding in the area helped his body to be found. But, it's doubtful we will ever know the details of what happened to Caleb that evening. I feel so sad for his family.

I hate the word "closure." I read an essay once that said there's no "closure," only a resolution.

That being said, I'm grateful that Caleb's family and all who came to care about him have a resolution tonight.

An investigative team comprising members from the Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division and Organized Crime Unit, the FBI, the United States Marshals Service, and the Texas Rangers was formed shortly after Harris's disappearance. Over the following months, investigators executed over 50 digital search warrants, submitted 82 preservation requests, and analyzed over 1500 GB of data.

The remains, which showed no obvious signs of homicide, were sent to the Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office. Although the remains have been identified as Caleb Harris, the investigation remains open.

Thankful the family has closure, sad as it is. I think it's very interesting that the CCPD has stated that there are no obvious signs of homicide at this time but also is keeping the investigation open for anonymous tips.

Maybe because of the he heavy state of decomposition? I was curious myself if it was something like this or accident but I’m not sure if the type of place he was found was somewhere he could have accessed or fallen into, etc.

The next information we’re going to be waiting on I suppose is whether this will be ruled accidental ( I think likely) or foul play.

Human remains found in a wastewater station in June were positively identified as missing Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi student Caleb Harris, the city of Corpus Christi said in a press release Wednesday evening.

City workers discovered the 21-year-old's body in a wastewater collection well off the 5300 block of Lexington Road on June 24, about a block from his off-campus apartment where he was last seen on March 4.

The remains, in an advanced state of decomposition, were sent to the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification, where forensic analysts confirmed they belonged to Harris though DNA analysis, the release stated.

Local and national law enforcement agencies have participated in the investigation. Investigators served more than 50 digital search warrants, submitted 82 preservation requests and analyzed more than 1,500 gigabytes of data, according to the release.

Harris’ remains will be returned to the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office for a final autopsy report.

The investigation remains open and police encourage anyone with information to contact the department's Criminal Investigation Division at 361-826-2840 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 888-TIPS (888-8477).

According to Google Maps, it's a 3-hour walk but a 14-minute drive. I doubt he intended to go for a 3-hour walk in the middle of the night when he had a trip planned in just a few hours and an UberEats order waiting at his front door.

So did he meet someone near his apartments and, for whatever reason, that person drove him to the area near Greenwood?

Did he fall into Oso Bay and just float down that small creek which leads to the facility? (see attached photo) That doesn't seem likely to me because I feel like he would've been sighted earlier, though admittedly I don't know how deep that creek is, or how visible or frequented the surrounding area is, etc.

If someone placed him in the water facility, how come there don't appear to be signs of foul play?

I hope we get more answers in the coming days and weeks.

I had also thought there was an area where he may have fallen in right where his phone last pinged, which strongly indicated an accident, IMO.

I just can’t find the posts from the past weeks which stated this information. Anyone remember?

Caleb's remains were initially discovered in the wet well chamber of the Perry Place lift station near Lexington Road, not at the Greenwood facility. IMO, the investigation subsequently moved on to the Greenwood facility simply to ascertain whether any part of the remains traveled there as well.

For all who care about Caleb, including us perfect strangers, I am deeply relieved that he has been found, but for me the sad mystery of what befell him has now been quantified to the 10th degree.
