There is nothing to indicate he was attempting to or planning to take the surviving twin other than Monica saying he came back for Carter and then got “spooked” and left. I’ve watched the video way too many times, he left without any attempt at taking Carter and clearly wasn’t spooked. JMO IMO

He had a short bladed object - get real, a kife - that he was flipping around in his right hand. I have little doubt he was considering killing the other child. Whether he was interrupted or spooked or the voices in his head had other plans is not really possible to say, but he did leave abruptly.

IMO, it seems reasonable that he did it. The bigger question is his mental health. I hope he can be fairly evaluated, as I think there are going to be many things to unpack there. Does he remember doing it? Does he even understand it was wrong? Does he have a physical condition, or is it psychological? What has happened to him in the past? Cash is the victim and not him, so he will have to pay the price. MOO.

ETA: Regardless his problems, he should never be out in society again.

Our own eyes tell us it was him in the video.
Unless people have some super vision, and more than a mugshot to compare, believe me I put that video through every frame on the computer and I couldn't compare that mugshot to DB. Not saying it's not DB, but the only picture available is that mug

Couldn't make out what was in the person's hand, How can one assume it was a knife? I thought it was a blunt he was smoking. Couldn't tell the grainy video makes it hard to tell the identification of the person.

I can’t figure out why people see a man on camera, carrying a boy from his home, and coming back again to attempt to take his brother, yet can’t accept that the man in question murdered the little boy he stole. Why does everything have to have a conspiracy theory?
No one is claiming conspiracy as far as I know, DB was charged with crimes, all that's telling me that he was arrested for those crimes. Db hasn't been indicted, pled guilty, or found guilty. For those about his mental state, obviously he knew not to answer questions from the police, so his mental state at that time was deteriorated. If it was him, he knew to go home and change, and the booking video it seems as though he wasn't acting like someone with a mental disorder.. He seemed as though he was following directions and answering their questions.

I posted this before, but it was taken down because I didn't link where it is from. Not only does DB's body type match the person caught on video trying car doors and breaking security cameras, but the video of the person who took Cash has the same body type and the exact same shoes:

Neighbors of Cash Gernon say they reported 'killer' Darriynn Brown to police before 4 year old died | Daily Mail Online

More importantly, DB's FACE matches the face of the person who looked directly into the camera and then abducted Cash:

IMO, if you compare the face in the abduction video to the mugshot of DB and you can't tell that really is DB taking Cash, you just don't want to see. Exact same nose, mouth, proportions, same hair, same expression even.

How do you know he didn’t answer questions from the police?

That whatever it was in his hand in that blurry shot may have been a Balisong. No blade, just a flipping device. We just don’t know.

@Curiosa20 bbm Agreeing w you that we just don't know what was in DB's hand in abduction vid, and adding - the blurry object in DB 's hand may have been as harmless as a Kit Kat or Twix bar, that is, useless as an offensive or defensive weapon. If DB had a knife/edged weapon in hand when kidnapping Cash, it may or may not be the same weapon used to cut the poor little boy, which DB may or may not have done. my2ct.

Now somewhat O/T:
If DB was holding a balisong,* the info below* does not support the ^ stmt --- a balisong has no blade, is a "flipping device." A trainer version of a balisong can be just a flipping device or a so-called fidget toy.

A Balisong or butterfly knife can be opened quickly w one hand, as vid* shows, making it esp'ly dangerous. I like all my fingers;), so I stay away from these. my2ct

Yes, I was thinking of the blunt version. They don’t have a sharp edge. But they are creepy. They are also 100% legal everywhere.

It’a been 3 weeks and a day since little Cash was kidnapped and murdered. I hope the Forensics come in any day now.

I am expecitng our wait for the forensic reports will be a bit longer, maybe even a few more weeks, though I'd love for news tomorrow.

@Curiosa20 Yes, I thought you'd know the difference btwn real balisongs and trainer versions, but your fingers started typing ahead of your brain. Happens to me ;) a lot.

I can’t tell what, if anything, is in his hand, but IMO he isn’t smoking anything. I didn’t see inhaling, exhaling or smoke circulating.

You know how most of us have never personally met Queen Elizabeth, or Donald Trump, or Joe Biden, or Jennifer Lopez, but we know it’s them when we see them on TV? As public figures, they are familiar to us and we can identify them.

A neighborhood is a microcosm. The well-known figures are familiar to the community. It’s not just the affidavits from MS and KM which identify DB, it’s all the people in the neighborhood who personally know DB, for better or for worse, and they unanimously agree it’s DB in the video. There’s not even a question or a single dissenting person that’s been revealed to us, other than his mother.

Even though it’s grainy, everything about him is recognizable to the people who have had actual contact with him. He is familiar.
I trust their identification. The rest of us are strangers trying to figure it out.

I believe this is the third time I’ve talked about the unanimous recognition by the neighbors of DB in the kidnapping tape. I don’t want to go in circles so I’ll drop it. We are all entitled to our pet theories and our opinions but indisputable evidence is indisputable evidence. JMO.

I’m curious where the other cameras are located inside the house.

Yes, that’s what happened. Or, my brain was already on to something else and my fingers didn’t go along. Thank you so much. :)

@Arkay dbm sbm. I understand some neighbors ID'ed the young man in abduction vid as DB. And the neighborhood as a microcosm is a good analogy.
Had all these neighbors actually seen DB close up & long enough at other times to nail the abduction-guy-vid as being DB? See him in daylight? Or only on Ring cam vid of someone pulling/opening car door handles? Or maybe from across the street while walking their dogs at night?
Could some of those ID's been equivocal?
If LE actually specified that X number of neighbors ID'ed vid guy as DB w no exception, I missed it, which is entirely possible.

This post lands at random.

Good lord I hope something new comes out soon. This thread is super annoying and based on very little.

I could say that about a few of the current threads.

At least one of these neighbors ID'd him out of a lineup.
