Mod Reminder:
MS is off limits for sleuthing as she has not been named a POI. Discussing circumstances or events surrounding her at this time, which are not mentioned in MSM associated with this case, is considered sleuthing.

Thanks

I just realized those posts were removed so was going to post this for the Mod to see (but your post beat me to it. :))

I can only speak for myself, but others might have felt the same way. For me, I was curious to see if the threats were against those living at MS's house, her G'pa neighbor that had a run-in with DB, or some other house on Florina. Searching for only 'Florina' brought up MS's address so that answered that Q. I do know we aren't allowed to sleuth anyone not named as a POI. I didn't realize this would fall under sleuthing MS. For that I apologize. I didn't mean to give you more work to do. :( I was just curious who was getting terrorist threats on that block. I actually thought it might be the guy whose face was blocked out that was doing a lot of talking at the neighborhood forum video that we recently viewed. Looks like it wasn't.

Again, I apologize. :(

If went to trial today with the evidence that is presented to us, this moment. He would walk. All that they have as far as I know are the statements of MS and KM. That's all that was released linking him. I doubt any jury would convict him on a grainy nanny cam.

Respectfully disagree. Rarely are there cases where the perpetrator is actually caught on video (even a grainy nanny cam). Considering that DB's face is clearly discernible on that video, and DB had no right to remove the child from his bed, and the child ended up stabbed to death in the street, I find it difficult to imagine he would "walk." Don't know how you can tell that's DB, by comparing a mugshot to the videos. That's the only picture available. I can't tell it was him, even with trying to enhance it. You must knot know how video and the pixels work. It was a low grade camera to begin with. <modsnip> did you happen to notice the light in the lower left hand corner of the window? To me it looks like a phone screen. It goes on and off the whole time the person is standing there above the child. <modsnip>

I see:
same hair that sticks up on top right
same indentations on either side of mouth
same eyebrow shape
same length and shape of nose
same length of forehead
same space from nose to mouth
ETA: same body type as other videos known to be DB
same shoes
same flat expression

Any light in the window is a different subject than whether this is DB picking up Cash and walking off with him.

P.S. There are at least 2 photos of DB's face, here's a link with another one:

Mugshot:

Here is the link where the other two photos are from, in accordance with TOS:
Video reveals moment Cash Gernon is snatched from his bed by Darriynn Brown | Daily Mail Online

I'm simply saying I believe a jury (if this case goes to trial, may not due to competency issues) would be quickly convinced this is DB abducting Cash by their OWN EYES (not by MS or KS attesting to it). JMO, you're also entitled to yours.

General question for those in the know (not about any specific person). If a parent says their child was home all night, and it turns out they were covering up... do they face problems of their own? Is that obstruction or some other name? TIA
Great question in the age of fake facts.
Lying to cover- up can be charged as making a false statement, which is a crime. Obstruction is lying that seriously complicates or throws
off an investigation or arrest.
There’s always the “to the best of my recollection” magic eraser, too.
Speaking to media, people can and do lie, make things up or take advantage of the chance to serve there own interests. It makes a good reporter’s job tough if doing investigative reporting.
There’s another case where the murder victim was last seen by her parents around midnight at home but was killed much later after sneaking out.
My mother died at 89 years old without ever knowing I was sneaking out when I was middle school age to meet my friends and climb the fence at the community pool to swim in the middle of the night.
They were good parents just the same and I lived to tell of this childhood escapade, I never even knew I was at risk until I reached adulthood.

I agree!!! We have heard more evidence and seen more than about any other case i can ever remember!!! The police have made an arrest and said definitively that he is responsible and acted alone. Killer is not a good boy!!!! I cannot for the life of me figure out the need to excuse this child killer and accuse innocent people. I simply cannot understand. If everything presented isn't enough for people to believe, then nothing will ever be enough. He was a ticking time bomb and killed a beautiful little child, who loved dinosaurs. Stop making excuses for this trash murderer.

In the words of Nicolas cage in City of Angels.... Some things are true, whether you believe them or not.
The evidence we’ve seen obviously isn’t enough for a murder charge or we wouldn’t be waiting on forensics.
I assume any other evidence they have that we haven’t seen isn’t enough either or he would have been charged already.

I am pretty sure that not only mothers think that their children can do no wrong,
@SBops Yes, you are absolutely right --- Mothers are not the only ones telling LE that sons/relatives could not have committed the crime(s) they've been charged w. Sometimes seems the Mothers are the loudest.

Well, who wants to admit to criminal or even imperfect offspring? my2ct.

I’m still not convinced that’s DB in both portions of the video. I’m also not convinced he acted alone. And even if it is him in both portions of the video, unless it’s time stamped, I’m not convinced it’s footage from the night cash was murdered. Too many other shady characters.

My cams keep track of the time to the second, it’s weird to me that a security cam doesn’t, even a baby cam.
It means unless you’re watching it constantly you can see something happened but don’t know when, that’s kind of a major flaw in a security system.

It does seem strange not to display the time on a supposed security camera. Hopefully the camera has internet time syncing capability to at least the filenames or any metadata would have the correct time embedded, even if not visible.

It’s been mentioned in a previous post, that it was an Arlo baby monitor. I watched a few reviews and tutorials on it last night, not sure I’m able to link that here but it’s easy to find on google. Apparently it’s a subscription service, you need to manually set it to record video when motion is detected, and it will record up to 300 seconds. Notifications are sent to your phone, regardless of the app is open on your screen or not, and need to be manually deleted or saved one by one. Saved recordings last only 7 days.

That’s a lot of setup and notifications involved on a camera MS forgot she had.

I notice an absence of further comment from DB's mother MB. DB was promptly arrested, and his mother was quick to tell the media that he was being setup, framed. She said he was home all night, so it could not have been him. I have not seen any further comments from her in 3 weeks? I also doubt she attended the community meeting. I am not sleuthing her, only her lack of further public defense of DB. MOO

her silence speaks volumes me thinks.

In my lightly miscreant youth, my mother and brother were at the pool in our apartment project. I was home, line of sight from the pool. For some reason, I exited the apartment from the non-visible side, and made my way around the perimeter of the complex and into the woods near the pool, where we had a makeshift clubhouse complete with reclaimed furniture and found objects. At some point I started a small fire, then made my way back around the perimeter and back into my apartment. After a while they came home from the pool in a huff. Apparently the fire took off a little bit and needed to be extinguished, and someone at the pool said they had seen me back there, and my mother defended me up and down, knowing that I was back at the apartment alone. She told me the story from her high horse once she visually confirmed my presence in the apartment. I didn't have the stones to tell her. To this day, she probably believes I was unjustly accused. :)

p.s., don't worry, this was not triad behavior -- there was no bedwetting or animal killing, and I didn't grow up to be an arsonist. I was like 10 years old, with a single parent and largely unsupervised. I got better.

Point is, DB's mom might not have known the extent of her son's nocturnal wonderings. Or maybe she was in denial. It's a stretch, but I can see it.

Neighbour reveals footage of alleged killer stalking his backyard near Cash Gernon’s home

Neighbour Jose Alvarado found footage from his video doorbell of what appeared to be Darryinn Brown, prowling around his fence near the home of Cash 10 weeks before the kidnapping on 15 May.

“It's really scary,” Mr Alvarado told The Daily Beast. “I have two kids, one girl and one boy, and they play basketball in the backyard.”

Another neighbour shared surveillance footage showing a man matching the description of the accused murderer checking if the cars in the neighbour’s driveway were locked.

The neighbour, who wanted to remain anonymous, said that in a still image from that night, 19 April, a man who appears to be Mr Brown is seemingly in the process of breaking a security camera, local Dallas outlet WFAA reported.

I’m guessing she had it set up to record but NOT send her notifications every time the toddlers moved around. I have a camera I use that way (front door). I just want to be able to refer back if there’s an issue, not get a notification every time someone walks by. If she had notifications on, maybe this would have gone differently.

Mother Defending Son?
In my lightly miscreant youth,...I started a small fire,... and someone ... said they had seen me back there, and my mother defended me up and down, knowing that I was back at the apartment alone. She told me the story from her high horse once she visually confirmed my presence in the apartment.... Point is, DB's mom might not have known the extent of her son's nocturnal wonderings. @helpfulcharlie bbm sbm for focus. Thanks for your own real life example of a Mother defending a son and saying he "could not have done it."
My earlier post generalized about Mothers. As your story shows, sometimes they are telling the truth as they know it --- but it may not be factual.

:)"High horse," :)haven't heard that phrase in a long time; it's a good one.

But the view from up on that high horse is unmatched. ;)

I posted 2 days ago that I had heard an interview with DB’s mom on Fox news, but I was mistaken. It was in CBS 11 Dallas. This is the only follow up after her initial statement, also over the phone, that he had been been home that week end and was very kind to his cousins and a client of Metro Services.
