Found Deceased TX - Cedric Jackson, 18 months, Dallas, 9 July 2019 *Arrests*

Could we just swaddle him tightly and throw him into his cell each night, LWOP?
Hopefully big bubba will pop in his bunk in the middle of the night and swaddle him real tight.

Here's what I don't get, based on what I've read so far:
Where was the aunt when this ketchup thing happened?
Boyfriend said Cedric made a mess with ketchup. Boyfriend swaddled Cedric to punish him, and put him on the floor.
Then Cedric vomits [and apparently stops breathing].
Then bf does CPR without good results.
Then bf takes Cedric to landfill.
When did aunt go to bed?
Did she take Cedric with her to bed, or did she put Cedric in bed before she went to bed? [Neither of these statements makes sense with ketchup incident, IMO]
If either, where was the aunt and when did the ketchup thing happen?
Not that it matters because aunt should have still been aware of what was happening but I think the ketchup incident happened awhile ago and since then BF has been “swaddling” him every night. At least that’s how I read the previously posted articles.

Kids who sneak food are usually not getting enough to eat

Another failure of Texas CPS. What a shame.
Yes, it's a same, but it's not just Texas, as we all know. SMH. Of course most of what we hear and follow here are the bad cases, but we follow what's out there, for good or for bad.
Is there a state anywhere in the US that has a good, effective and successful CPS/AFDC (or whatever title)? If so, would love to know how they do it.

Thanks, Momof4RN-- I was not aware of the nightly swaddling -- I somehow missed those comments.

PS, I have a DIL who is a Momof3RN!

The ketchup situation was a different night. He slept bound, on the floor, every night it sounds like. He likely never slept with the aunt.

So what's taking so long for LE to arrest the aunt?

So what's taking so long for LE to arrest the aunt?
My guess is that it's because she is raising 5 other young children. And they need to figure out what to do with them all. They are probably in CPS right now, but ...?

Also in this article it states CPS claims they do background checks on all adults living in home and child would not be placed if someone had criminal background...hmm so did he just move in or did we just overlook that detail?

"He said he swaddled the child to restrict the toddler’s movements because Cedric once “made a mess” with ketchup packets, the arrest warrant says.

The child had only lived in the home since May 21, the warrant says.

One of the children in the home said Johnson often wraps the child too tightly. Cedric did not like being wrapped and “would always fuss and cry prior to bedtime,” the warrant says."

I'm not surprised at little Cedric's fussing and crying about the swaddling. babies commonly outgrow swaddling between 3--6 months of age.
Why were they still swaddling him? And the ketchup incident -- did Cedric "make a mess with ketchup" in the bed? Did that little boy take the ketchup to bed because he was still hungry? If so, why didn't they just fed him a bit more and forego the damn swaddling on a child who no longer needs it and who doesn't like it. SMH. Doesn't make sense. IMO. Grrrrrr.

They might not have known. We keep hearing that many CPS workers give the clients 'notice' that they are coming to visit on a certain day. And I do understand why they might need to, if they have only limited time and too many cases to work.

But if the clients know when the social workers are coming, they can hide the drugs and the criminal boyfriends and clean the apartment and stock some food in the pantry before their arrival.

No, not in the bed. I think he and/or a sibling went to the kitchen in middle of the night and made a big mess. Maybe stepped on ketchup packets that fell on a rug or something? I've done that and it made a big mess on our beige carpet.

But lazy Arse boyfriend decided the best way to deal with that is to 'disable' the children each night so he won't have to clean up any more messes in the morning. o_O

I’m sure aunt claimed she lived there with just her two kids. She likely wanted the baby placed with her for the foster care money. So if she had to lie to get him placed with her, that was ok.

I’m wondering the same thing. Probably same thing that’s taking them so long to arrest BB (Maleah’s ‘mom’). Eyes rolling. Jmo.

It wasn’t all the kids, just Cedric being restrained.

He was not swaddled in the proper sense. He was wrapped very tightly according to one of the kids. It was nothing short torture. He likely screamed and cried until he barfed and choked.

And aunt says he slept in bed with her, but bf says in confession baby was on floor at foot of bed.
H*ll, why didn't they just get a doghouse and keep him in the freakin' backyard?
Every now & then a little nasty frog will just hop out there...

I’m seeing lots of people calling him Cedrick.

According to the mom’s 🤬🤬🤬 and the dad’s entirely separate 🤬🤬🤬, the baby’s name is spelled Cedric. Some media are saying Cedrick but that is not correct. I think they are just getting confused and combining his name with his killer’s since that guy does have a k on the end of his name. Ironic that they have what appears to be the same name.

Can we correct Cedric’s name in the title of the thread?

Edit: the *** are the initials of a certain platform for raising cash. Not trying to encourage anyone to donate just referencing it because they were started by the parents and have his name spelled that way.

IMO, he just slithered in there.
Possibly a CPS cold visit might find him there, but maybe not.
