MIAMI (AP) A waterspout uprooted an inflatable bounce house with three children inside it on a South Florida beach Monday, but the youngsters were ejected before it flew above palm trees across four lanes of traffic into a parking lot, police said.
All three children were tossed to the sand while another unoccupied bounce house nearby also took flight westward over the state road and landed in the same lot, authorities added.
The children were injured, but alert and conscious when they were taken to a hospital, Fort Lauderdale Police spokesman Keven Dupree said.

KXAN spoke with Laura’s sister who was on the phone with her when their cabin was swept away.
Julie Shields says, “We are floating in a house that is now floating down the river. Call mom and dad. I love you and pray.”
Those were the last words Julie Shields had with her sister Laura. She was on the phone with her when the cabin she was staying in with her husband Jonathan and 2 kids was carried away in the rushing water.
<snip>
The McCombs were with Ralph and Sue Carey along with their daughter, Michelle Charba, her husband Randy and their 4 year old son Will. All are still missing.
Julie Shields said she was on the phone with her sister, Laura [McComb], when their cabin was swept away.
“We are floating in a house that is now floating down the river,” Laura told Shields on the phone. “Call mom and dad. I love you, and pray.”
I don't know if this link has been posted yet. Tons of photos. Several show where the Carey/Chabra/McCombs cabin was before it was swept away.

A glimmer of hope as the search for survivors continues in Wimberley this evening. A yellow lab named Maggie was discovered stuck in a tree down the river. She was alive and she had her tags. Tonight we've learned the dog belongs to Jonathan McComb, a local resident who was swept down the river along with his family during the flooding. Jonathan continues to recover in a San Antonio hospital.
