HAPPENING NOW: Two New Orleans restaurants, Drago's Seafood and Galatoire's, came up to Shreveport to provide meals for emergency responders who have been working to help victims and properties during Shreveport's worst flood in 70 years. Here's a big thank you for their hard work!

SMH ... How stupid would one have to be to take such a chance with all that stuff under water?

Schmae, without your updates, I would not know what is happening now, after all that rain/flooding. When the children are found, I know where to find out. Thank you. :tyou:

My friend is currently looking for somewhere to camp at the lake. Lake Whitney and Lake Benbrook are closed until August, approximately. No camping at lakes.

WOW!

''A Texas A&M oceanographer says the heavy rains that caused major flooding along several Texas rivers over the past several weeks soon could lead to significant problems for marine life and commercial fishing in the Gulf of Mexico off Texas.
What researchers have labeled as a "dead zone" is created when fresh water empties into the salty Gulf of Mexico.''

Here is a little bit of good news. :) Lake Texoma sits between TX an OK , obviously. It's finally quit spilling over the spillway which is great news. Most of the other lakes/ rivers are downstream from this location so hopefully this means the beginning of the end is in sight.

Shreveport is not TX, I know, but it is about 30 mins from the TX border and this is all part of thr same weather system...

Tulsa to Shreveport to Houston to Midland and all points in between are included in my opinion. All have had way too much water and cannot take any more and looks like we are going to get more. Let's hope these several days of dry have been enough to move some water around so there is no more flooding this week :please:

I'm afraid throughout this summer, if we really do get above average rainfall, there will be lots of flash flooding almost every storm. There is simply nowhere for the water to go. June is the wettest month of the year and so far, so good but who knows what's about to happen. My route to work got knocked out , permanently. :(

Now a 60% chance of a tropical storm developing in the Gulf. ( earlier this afternoon, this same page says 40% chance so it's growing)
I don't think anywhere between Houston and Tulsa can handle tropical storm rains at this point.
