Interestingly, rape victim said: "I think it had to do with this moving company I had an altercation with"

Police says the theory was not proven in rape victim's case, but I wonder if this angle has been investigated with Cheryl? How would she have moved? Would she have contacted a movers?

Cheryl and my sister were both young. We would just move stuff on our own. No movers invoked.

have you spoken anything with rape victim? What happened back then? Didn't investigators check out other girls in the same club about similar incidents? Why would she think it was someone from the moving company who threatened her? If someone threatened her, wouldn't she have known if it was him or not? I am finding this very odd. Something had to give.

I have never met or spoken with the rape victim. Yes investigators did talk to other woman but nothing came to light.

I am the same age as the victims and lived in the same area the murders occurred. The west area was under construction at the time and the Beltway 8, or Tollway that shows up on maps now, was a roadway, not a giant Tollway. I don't know when construction began or when it was completed for Beltway 8.

The roads in the neighborhoods were placed first, and it was very common for teens to party and park on the vacant, newly placed streets. This occurred all the way from the area where Ricks, and Dreamstreet were located back to the street where the murder happened and beyond. Also, the high school, Robert E. Lee, pulled students all the way from the Galleria area (Ricks,) to Highway 6 (behind murder location). I wondered if the person might have been recognized by someone who graduated from Lee ahead of us. The POI looks young. The same area where Ricks and Dreamstreet were located was also a night club/bar area, especially along Richmond and Westheimer. A lot of young people lived in the apartments on Richmond as well.

I read that Andy worked at one of his father's nightclubs, and the rape victim also worked for his father at one time. If I have the links, to the articles I will post them.

Westheimer was around then, and the Beltway 8 was called West Belt at that location, if I remember correctly. It was turned into a highway The Beltway now goes over Westheimer, but it would still be the corner of the Beltway and Westheimer.

Another person asked if they directly intersected so they could add another victim to the map. At least, that is how I understood it. Today, the Tollway goes over Westheimer, creating an overpass. Doesn't it? I don't travel that way much anymore. The feeder road on either side, I guess directly intersects Westheimer. If I remember, back then, the two roads literally intersected because I don't think the Tollway was finished yet. It's been so long, I could be wrong or remembering incorrectly.

MoCity, I am so sorry for your loss. It seems to me that those party streets were usually passed along from people who knew each other, and not something people would know offhand. I also seem to remember the area where they were found was really dark. We used to cut through around there to get to Highway 6, and for some reason I remember it being poorly lit, like all the lights weren't up. It just seems like a place you wouldn't be unless you knew how to get around.

Yes, back when Cheryl and Andy were murdered there was NOTHING in that area. I believe it had to be someone who knew the area, because there really would be no reason for anyone to be randomly driving around there late at night. When I was in high school (Stratford High) we used to go there to party, we even had a name for it but it escapes me now. Now of course it looks nothing like what it used to, it's completely built up.

Ha yes I remember the old West Belt that is now Beltway 8.

The composite wasn't done until 2008 because the DNA from the rape case wasn't processed and put into CODIS until then. When it was it was a match for the same DNA from Cheryl. That is when the police talked more to the rape victim and she agreed to help with a composite.

It's almost unbelievable that there have been no other hits with this 's DNA over the years. No way this sadistic, violent rapist/murderer suddenly stopped committing crimes. A leopard doesn't change it's spots.

Agreed. I am Cheryl's stepsister and can't believe justice has not been served. People seem to think this won't happen to their families but I am here to say it does.

Seems like a native Houstonian, or a well-travelled Houstonian, a person who was known, and premeditated. The only semi-common artery is Beltway 8, and that is still not an easy access route. From the club area, it is probably faster to hit 59. From the murder location, you are going to hit a bunch of lights getting to I-10. Then, from the rape location you have to go down Cypress Fairbanks to get on the Beltway. Plus, it was always closed down and under construction then, right? Not reliable, or fast. Seems like an uncertainty. Not to mention, you still hit lights. Even long time Houstonians seem to stay in a few parts of town, and only know those parts well. Maybe it was an electrician, plumber, or other worker who had a uniform and had to know areas of Houston well too. Though pointing out your outfit to the victim seems like a tactic to throw them off.

When I saw the sketch, he looked like anyone I could have gone to high school with. Seems like someone would recognize him if he went to high school in the area, or was someone's older brother. I sent it along to people who could post on the alumni page.

I think it was more a crime of opportunity. I don't believe it was anyone who knew Cheryl, nor someone who saw them out and followed them to the enclave. (I could be wrong.) I tend to think it was someone prowling that area, someone that knew it was a secluded place where young people went to party and where young couples went to be alone late at night. Heck, I myself went there late at night with a boyfriend, back when I was still living with my parents. I think it was someone maybe a little older than they were.

I think my profiling skills are probably not very accurate. I do think it is strange that the person was able to control two people in a wooded area. Did they get attacked in the car first?

I joined the site to see if there was anything specific I could do to assist the families of missing or unsolved crimes. I teach a research course, and thought families might have specific research they need done to help solve their cases that I can have students work on. For example, perhaps there are old press releases you would like resubmitted or updated and sent to stations. I'm in the Houston area, searched, and came across this post. It was just a coincidence I spent part of high school about a mile away from this horrible event.

I wasn't really sure what needs people might have, but I have a lot of people willing to help. Just let me know or point me in the direction of the person to contact. Thanks!

I just noticed you were a newbie, welcome! Hey, don't worry, my profiling skills are probably on par with my dog, who is at this moment licking his...yeah.

I have also mulled over the possibility of there being more than one person involved, but I think he acted alone. He caught them off guard and controlled them with a knife. Yes, I believe he attacked them in the car first. I'm sure he convinced Andy if they cooperated he wouldn't hurt them, and they really had no choice but to comply. I'm sure if Andy and Cheryl thought they were going to be killed they would have fought like hell.

I'm sure Mocity would be very grateful for any help you can provide, I know she is desperate to bring attention and resolution to her sister and Andy's case. Your offer is very much appreciated. What high school did you go to, if you don't mind me asking? I went to Stratford.
