Ha, I have wondered that, too. After they are done, are they just like, "Welp, here's your car back, just put it back together at your convenience. Thanks." Then you get a box of seats, seatbelts, a radio, tires, an engine...I guess if you are incarcerated forever, it doesn't matter so much. But man, if they made a mistake and then trashed your car, that would be fun.

I know it's not as severe, but I once had cops search my car for drugs when I was a teenager (there was none) and they completely ripped it up, took off all the vents and coverings to everything, then just left it that way and let me go home.

Just my opinion, but Im sure EAs attorney is extremely busy this week with Kim Williams taking the stand in her soon to be ex husbands trial, which sucks for EA and everyone else for that matter because we really need answers.*
I highly doubt EA is talking to LE. Thats why he is spending the big bucks on PJ.
Jmo

And she hasn't even gone to trial. She was just testifying in his sentencing phase yesterday. Was that not explosive court room drama or what? Wow....

LOL - thank you - sometimes I wonder if I am the only one who wonders about details like that. (BBM)

@ Cortne and CatPatrol (I don't know how to put more than one post in a reply)
That just seems wrong IMO. The expense incurred, the headache, the stress - UGH

I was wondering the same thing. LE had his car for 11 days, so is it just to delve further into what they found during that time? Or do they need more convincing evidence? Not much of an answer for you Eileen lol

LOL! I was wondering the same thing.
What did they miss the first time? I wonder if.....
some evidence they took from his garage at home leads them to think the CAR is the CRIME
scene.

They do the same thing to a home!
They rip it apart then leave you with the mess!

I wouldn't say explosive, I'd say honest. Why can't all defendants be like KW? She went in there and owned her guilt. ;)

Yeah, LE does not clean up fingerprint dust, or any other damage they may do to a house or car during a search, or a crime scene clean-up...that is why certain cleaning companies exist...

o/t but what/how did they decide that Alma ended up in that lake?? That's always been bothersome to me.

I think maybe the CSI can take dirt, mud or sand off a car and give LE some idea of where that may have been.

Im thinking maybe they are checking the under belly of that car.

Gives hope someone else will do the same. :happydance:

Maybe just due to her car being missing as well? (Alma's car.)

There seem to be many confused folks here.[modsnip] He was allegedly hired by Accion America, Carlos Quintanilla's group. Johnson will not be the attorney of record if this thing goes to trial, I predict.

My guess is, when the family does hire an attorney, said hired attorney will go the judge and ask for bail to be modified based on the fact that for 100+ days following CM's disappearance EA didn't try to flee, stayed in the area, gave statements to police when asked, turned over his car three times to be searched, etc. They'll likely ask for an ankle monitor to go along with the lesser bail request.

Right now, the reason that the bail is so high is that EA doesn't have an attorney representing him. Otherwise, there would have been an objection/challenge to the high bail given in the first place. You have to think to put these things together. I half believe the seemingly higher than warranted charge and high bail are the product of EA not having an attorney; and, therefore, the prosecution knowing they could get away with it pretty easily.

I also agree with the folks who say EA won't talk. Why would he? He's already given several statements, both to the police and publicly on television. And, he gave those statements to police without an attorney present. Because we are in America, he's not required to say anything further.

My guess is, the next speaker on his behalf will be whomever the family hires to be his attorney.

Did he quit after Saturday?

http://www.dallasnews.com/news/crime/headlines/20141213-kidnap-arrest-made.ece

McElroy tried to persuade Arochi and his lawyer to meet with her face-to-face to discuss the case, but she said they didn’t respond.

Paul Johnson, Arochi’s attorney, declined to talk about McElroy’s offer Saturday afternoon.

He also declined to comment on the arrest, saying he was waiting for copies of the arrest report and search warrant.

“We’re just processing what we’ve got now and waiting for an opportunity to review the evidence that formed the basis of the charge,” Johnson said.

A few thoughts on EA: He just doesn't really strike me as someone being part of a "bigger plan". It doesn't appear that he has really been in any kind of big trouble before, other than the phone theft. And I sometimes wonder if Sprint used that as more of an excuse to fire him, because of the CM case. I would imagine that other Sprint, AT&T, (etc) mgrs also "borrow" phones.. not saying it's right, but it probably happens. As far as drugs, he strikes me as more of the type that has contacts and can provide "party favors" if needed, which also makes him "popular" with that type of crowd. The Camaro is also another way he "impresses" people. On his own, without "contacts", the "cool" car, probably "cool" clothes.. it doesn't seem like he would be in much demand. I'm a guy, so I can't really comment on his appeal to the opposite sex. His gf seemed to be nice looking, but again, did she just like to be seen in his car? Watching the videos, I don't see much in the way of any kind of personality... of course it's hard to gauge on those types of videos. And lastly, I think must of us will agree... he doesn't seem that bright. Just a few observations.... What are your thoughts??

Snipped/bolded by me...

You're never required to say anything at all.

I think CQ with AA advised the Arochis to hire Paul Johnson. I don't think CQ is footing the bill though.
