lol...

Is there ANYONE on this board who thinks a random abduction is a possibility here? It seems I'm the only one. Wondering if my hinky meter is broken, lol.

The percentage of random/stranger abduction vs. someone known to the victim, is very low.

True. Chances are it could be someone known to her. Still....how many random abduction cases do we see here on WS? A ton! Late night, parking garage, young petite girl alone, bunch of pervs out there...

I'm not familiar with the area, it would be really helpful for me to have a list of suburbs / nearby areas by name so I can research incidents independently (example, Frisco, Allen, Colony, Lewisville, Carrollton---guess I'll just look on a map and see what I can come up with.

Either you guys know something I don't know, or there appears to be tunnel vision in this case. jmo, Not being snarky.

(Where's Foxfire when I need him/her :( )

Richardson, Plano, Allen, Frisco, Carrolton, Farmers Branch, The Colony and Denton. North of Allen is McKinney. All I can think of. hth

Bingo. There's got to be something else...shops and cameras....jmo.
Again, it takes time to secure warrants, collect, review, analyze footage. It can take a couple weeks.

I don't understand why they didn't show her actually going to her car. jmo

Le said this is the only image they have, I believe.

I have waited to ask this question to see if it would be answered. Did the camera stop at the point of what was released or is there more that PD has seen but we have not? ty

If I remember correctly, almost all the shops have cameras at the back. And the red lights have cameras as well. Can't imagine the parking garage camera is the only footage they have. Makes me think she didn't leave that garage on foot. Had to be in one of the cars seen leaving in the video.

They aren't suburbs, they're all actual cities.

Don't forget Lewisville, Addison and Far North Dallas.

Yea, but he was the one cheating.

Yes, I understand that- but I don't see this BF groveling. She is the one who was headed back to Ft Worth, and this was not about current BF, iykwim.

eta: perps frequently insert themselves into investigations

Let's review some cases for comparison. Refresh my memory, websluthers!

Victim knew the perp beforehand:

-Holly Bobo
-Jessica Lundsford
-Elizabeth Smart
-Hailey Dunn
-Haleigh Cummings
-Victims of Albert Fish
-Victims of H.H. Holmes
-Victims of Ed Gein

Random/Stranger:

-Ben Owenby - Shawn Hornbeck
-Kelsey Smith
-Jaycee Dugard
-Amanda Berry - Gina DeJesus - Michelle Knight

Those are a just few, I know you all have so many examples ... please share and compare!

Just FYI: Michelle Knight was on his bus- and I believe another one knew his daughter. There are many many cases here on WS where a loved/known one has abducted.

I totally think it could be a random abduction. Quite frankly its the only one that makes sense to me unless the police are not sharing info about the friend who walked her. However, I don't know why they would be withholding it if he was a POI because if he did do something to her that night and then had to hide her body.... unless they interrogate him for hour and hours, how else can they find out what he did to her? And unless they think he is a POI they aren't going to interegate him for hours and hours ... otherwise they would be bringing him back in, following him...doing everything they could to of done a search warrant of his car and house by now. You don't quitely just let all this time go by when you have a POI... because obviously if it was the friend or bf they wouldn't be holding her, keeping her alive...they would of had to of harmed her and put her somewhere at a distance and location that she would of been found by now...a random abduction would be a person no one knows of, could of taken off to another state or be holding her somewhere locally right under everyones nose but nobody has a clue as to who the stranger is.
OR... this was elaborately staged and maybe if more money was involved as a reward someone would start singing.

Of course this could be a random abduction...but I am stuck on the fight with BF, any possible fall-out from leaving old BF for his friend and any new woman in BF's life...just seems like a lot of possible ill-will there. Also leaves room for maybe another guy/friend to try his luck. And the coincidence of her just happening to be alone in such a deserted spot at 4am and running into a random perp. Lots of coincidences for a random, Imo.

Thank you for clarifying that. So add those to the list of victims who knew their offenders. I think that list would be quite a lot longer than stranger abductions. :(

Here are some example of random crimes/kidnappings where Victim and Perp did not not one another:

Katie Sepich
Channon Christian/Chris Newsom
Brianna Dennison
Eve Carson
Katie Poirier
Melanie Goodwin
Anne Pressley
Meredith Emerson
Lauren Bump

There are many many more.

But statistically speaking, victim and perp usually know one another than not.

If I can think of anymore, i'll add them to my list

Wondering:

What is boyfriend's alibi? What are 2 brothers' /friends alibis?

I agree---hinky with the bf, etc. (fights, reports of cheating, no call for 4 days, his acquaintances, etc etc)
I agree, the guy walking her out should be suspect numero uno (person last seen with the victim)

LE obviously has not been able to secure enough evidence at this time to arrest any one of these guys (doesn't mean they're not involved, just saying they can not seem to prove or disprove alibis/version of events, jmo.

It is always a possibility. Even if the chances are slim to none until we can narrow down the field it is wide open to include stranger abduction. The stats and studies require the one now and again. ;)

I do lean more toward it being someone she knows with all of the circumstances we have been given surrounding this case, but being in a public parking garage lends itself to a stranger and a crime of opportunity.
