Mmm.... I don't know what to think about the bothers ex speaking out now, in my opinion they have a pretty turbulent on/off relationship. Perhaps she is feeling scorned and trying to cause trouble.
I don't know how she could know the blanket was missing unless she went looking for it? Just because she didn't see it in the back seat didn't mean it wasn't in the boot or vice versa. And if she had such valuable information why is she talking to a reporter and not police. I really hope she's not trying to stir up trouble etc because the Morris family have been through enough, just because things have turned bad with her & Carlos.

At the very end, the reporter said that she's been contacted by Plano PD but they haven't interviewed her yet. I wonder how long it's been since she spoke with them?

Well Plano PD really was working hard on her case from the beginning. I remember Tilley saying they interviewed people even multiple times and had detectives assigned specifically on her case. If they contacted her way back in the beginning certainly they would have interviewed her if they felt she had pertinent info. If she means that she was contacted only recently that seems a little weird. She hasn't been in contact with the Arochi family for a long time, so she would have had this information a long while. Why only divulge it now?

wow. I've been married 25 years (to the same man) and i cannot say what is in his trunk or his car, for that matter.

She knew the blanket that was in his car and noticed when it was gone??

I hope ppd take the time out to interview her.

this ^^^^

I'm not sure what to think, of the ex-gf's comments.. Interesting, but not really earth-shattering news. I've never heard of anyone that is "known" to have a blanket in their car, as if it is their trademark, but who knows? Maybe they went on a lot of picnics, so the blanket was always pulled out... I'm also not really doubting her.. just thought it was strange. Come to think of it, I have a blanket in the back of my car (for winter emergencies).

1 The way she put it, EA "was known for keeping" that blanket in his car, which to me implies that there was more to the blanket story in general than it just being always present ...and which would explain why it was very noticeable to both her and EA's brother when it was suddenly gone for good for no known reason, and at a suspicious time.
2 If it's not really missing then it is easy for EA to say "Wait here's the blanket," and even without that there's no crime against getting rid of a blanket. So it certainly takes more than a missing blanket.
3 OTOH, if it's truly his "special blanket" (like Linus and his blanket) so to speak, that inexplicably vanished at that very time, the "coincidence" is highly suspicious. To me it kinda implies that if you can find that blanket, you might find our girl.

And does your sibling's significant other know about it? Or notice that it was no longer there?

This stinks to high heavens, IMO.

Well, in answer to your question, no, because they have never ridden in my car.
But like I said, I don't know what to think. Maybe this blanket was always in the back seat area, when they would cruise around in his car. His Camaro has a small back seat, so it could have been in the way & passengers had to always move it.. :dunno:

I appreciate you giving her and her story the benefit of the doubt.
Where has she been for (almost) 2 years with this story? Did she tell PPd and they didn't feel it was relevant? Or did she just remember it? Or...

I just don't buy it.

Yeah, I admit it's odd.. maybe she was scared to come forward, or like you said maybe PPD felt it wouldn't really help their case.. or could be considered "hearsay" in a court of law. OR it's complete nonsense & she wanted her 5 seconds of fame. I guess time will tell.. (or maybe not)..

It seems a decent defense attorney would blow up the fact that a blanket was there one minute & gone the next. Prosecution has so much REAL damning evidence to submit, without muddying up the waters around a disappearing blankie.. JMO

I think she said that they haven't interviewed her? Perhaps she was waiting to see if they would. I have seen it before.

So, she goes to the media before being interviewed by LE. Yeah, sounds legit.

rbbm

EXACTLY! The last thing we need is to have the trial delayed AGAIN while they start trying to search for and analyze errant fibers from some mysterious blanket that may or may not have even been there.
The trial is supposed to start in June, right? It will be maddening if they delay it further because of something like this.

I don't find the blanket story odd at all and I see it as helping as in her saying the blanket is likely with Christina wherever she is. This is Texas and these are young folks who obviously party, drink, and most likely do drugs. Perhaps his inner circle knew he partied too hard and always had his blanket to sleep somewhere rather than driving home messed up. There is also many bodies of water. Maybe they hung out at the lake or river a lot and he brought this blanket out. That would be nice to know if and where he frequented bodies of water.

I do really agree with all you say, and I'd love this to be another thing to pin on him. I just think a lawyer will rip it to shreds. If he point blank refuses there ever was a blanket then how can they prove these was.
I'm still just hoping so much that there is so much factual evidence that the police just don't think they need such hear say evidence. I don't want it to show any shadow of a doubt on the case.

Lolly, thanks.

We certainly don't know if there was a blanket or not, but I see no reason to doubt there was. Obviously if there wasn't such a blanket, this is the last we'll hear about this, as the state won't ask about this at trial. But assuming that there really was a blanket EA kept in his car, and that she is truthful in saying it was something everyone knew about EA ...

I actually think the defense would be unlikely to try to rip the assertion to shreds (unless the state had found a blanket with CM's DNA on it, of course). Here's why.

1 While it is attention-grabbing for media to make a big deal of, I don't think the information actually carries much importance for the trial.
2 So I don't think the state would call this girl just to tell about a blanket, because it proves nothing. Blankets in cars aren't illegal, nor are discarded blankets.
3 At most, I can envision they have this girl on the stand talking about other things, and then they ask her about this as well. Minor info, somewhat meaningless in proving guilt, it's mentioned and then they move on.
4 So if the defense tries to dispute the blanket, that opens the door to the state calling rebuttal witnesses to testify that they always saw a blanket in EA's car. Easy to corroborate, if EA was truly known for having a blanket.
5 And by proving that, then it causes the jury to put faith in everything else the girl has testified about.
6 So I would expect that the defense atty, on such a relatively-meaningless matter, just shrugs and cross-examines on other matters of greater importance. There's no reason to try to disprove everything. Lots of things mentioned in a trial don't matter that much.

Just my 2c worth.

I think the blanket could be significant if we find Christina wrapped in it.
The hard part for me is that if there is a blanket, and EA knows ppl know about his blanket, why would he leave it with her? (I'm not saying it's a fact, moo that it's with her.) He seems to have done a really good job of covering his tracks.
