So what are some medical conditions?
Heart attack?
Stroke?
Choking on something? (Which is my new biggest fear since it happened to my mom once)
Brain aneurysm?
Uhm.

Organ failure??

Diabetic ketoacidosis?

or severe allergic reaction to medication...

Just what I was going to suggest. I lost a dear friend when she had a reaction to a new medication. She called 911 when symptoms began and was gone before they got there.

So how can she have been acting erratic and depressed but then everything was normal on Monday according to her husband.

I think Mr. Woo was sticking his head in the sand when it came to his wife's mental well being. I agree with the poster that said she may have been having some postpartum depression still. Plus, it sounds like the husband wasn't able to even wake himself to get to work on time. She may have felt she was taking care of 4 children. I think she thought he would have immediately started searching for her when she wasn't at the home Monday when he arrived home from work.

:sigh: Pure speculation on a very sad and tragic situation! Poor babies!

I would like to be "cup-half-full" and think the mother died of a natural cause but a few things make me think otherwise:
-the phone left at home (a frequently-reported occurrence in suicide cases)
-the car was parked some distance from the stores entrance, in the shade (if it was not particularly hot, I'd think most parents park for convenience rather than shade/seclusion)
-the trip to the pharmacy (although in one report the Dad mentions a prescription for a child's eczema)

I am surprised the car was not detected and sussed-out by Target/mall security before three nights had passed... Perhaps those screens we can see in some reports, that look a little like pop-up sunshades, were in place and deterred people from seeing in? Security usually checks on cars with screens/fabric up at night though, as it can indicate someone living in their car. Makes me wonder if the screens were put up by crime scene personal (as a privacy barrier) - they don't look like the reflective type people use to protect their cars.

I hope that they had food and water...but it's awful to think about the environment in that car.

(Snipped by me.)

I'd like to think they traveled with snacks and water bottles -- I know I always had a big bag full when my kids were that young. But yeah. Awful awful to imagine. Those poor kids.

Some husbands are not very perceptive about other peoples' moods and feelings. Ask me how I know. :-/

a friend of mine moved from tx to ca. while she was here, her 7 year old daughter didn't sit in a safety seat. when she moved back, she got it out. she said tx has stricter laws about it. so its likely the oldest was in a safety seat.

Excuse my ignorance wrt children, but would all 3 kids have been strapped into car seats at their ages? Can bigger kids (5) usually unbuckle themselves or does it require a parent?

Uggg....just the thought of those poor kids being stuck in that car for such a length of time. No bathroom breaks, being thirsty & hungry, needing to stretch & run, cramped in there, probably chilly. The nighttime must have been so scary for them. I don't even want to think about it.....

Something just occurred to me. There is a McDonalds across the street from that Target. (Across the road and just a bit down.) I wonder if that was the one they went to. If so, how on earth didn't LE canvas nearby businesses to her last know whereabouts and get surveillance? They could have just driven right there to canvas and seen the car themselves!!!

I'm not one to be hard on LE, but if that was the Mcdonalds...I find that completely unacceptable and LE more than dropped the ball!

Has it been reported if the windows in the vehicle were up? I would think the mother would start to smell pretty badly after 3 days.

I also wonder if this is a suicide case, would the mother have left the windows down so the children could yell out the windows for help being they might have not been able to remove themselves from safety seats?

If she did end her life and didn't plan on taking the children with her, I would image she thought this was a location where they would be found quickly and not 3 days later. If she took prescription pills, I would assume the bottle was still in the vehicle and they could tell how many she took if that was what she picked up from the pharmacy. Thank God those children are still alive and I pray they get the attention and love they are needing to get through this. Maybe the 2 youngest are too young to realize what happened, but I'm sure the 5-yr.-old would understand what it is going on.

Another thought on the electric locks. Mine are set so when the car is turned off, only the driver's door is unlocked. The driver has to click the unlock button twice or push another button to unlock the other doors. Of course, the other passengers can click their unblock button, but I've yet had one adult to figure this out!! This is all without having the childproof system turned on. So, either way, with three little ones, they were locked in and could not get out of the car.

Was the vehicle positioned so that people who pulled in to park next to it could see in? You would think someone would hear a noise coming out of the car from the kids, especially the youngest.

The vehicle was backed into a spot next to a median with a tree. Only on one side could a person possibly see. (I can't tell from the pictures how tinted the sides are, or if they have shades.) With that said, good luck having someone notice unless there is lots f noise. People tend to b wrapped up in their own lives around here and wouldn't necessarily notice what a car next to them has going on. Not that I'm saying anything bad about people here, I love living here. I'm just not surprised nobody noticed. To my knowledge, this store does not have night security in the parking lot

ETA: This article has a few good pictures.

They went missing in Frisco and were found in McKinney.
According to the map, the towns are about 20 minutes from each other, but could be a world apart in the investigation.

Nevermind, I just found a link that maybe a different Target was the location.

A Frisco police detective was the one who spotted the SUV parked near the back of the store. The store is located two miles from the family's home.

Thank you for this. Perhaps it was a good thing she parked under a tree. I can't imagine what the temperature was in that car!

Does anyone think that maybe the vehicle wasn't there the whole 3 days??? I still can't wrap my head around these 3 children being in the car that whole time! In the middle of a Target parking lot!

I cannot fathom how a little one year old could survive so long. Perhaps, the 5 year old unbuckled but couldn't unbuckle the others. Maybe they were take care of by the oldest. Even then, I just can't wrap my head around it. Especially, the littlest one.
