CONROE, Texas – Several agencies, including the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, are conducting a search at the Sam Houston National Forest for a missing 23-year-old man.

Christopher Loveall was last heard from by family and friends on Sunday at 12:30 p.m., deputies said.

Loveall’s friends found his vehicle at the forest at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Detectives determined that Loveall’s cellphone was last tracked at the Sam Houston National Forest, and the signal was no longer active, according to deputies.

Anyone with information on Loveall’s whereabouts is asked to call the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 936-538-3456.

Agencies assisting in the search are Texas Parks and Wildlife, Texas Forestry Service; Precinct 1 Constable Office; Montgomery County Search and Rescue, New Waverly and Montgomery Fire Department, and Texas Department of Criminal Justice-ID tracking dogs.

NEW WAVERLY, TX -- UPDATE: It is with great sadness the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports that after a lengthy search in the Sam Houston National Forest, a body found deceased has been preliminarily identified as missing person Christopher Loveall. Currently, it appears that Mr. Loveall died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
