Sheriff: Body of woman in her 20s found in Canyon Lake

Comal County officials said game wardens discovered the body of a woman partially lodged in the water near a boat ramp at Canyon Lake near New Braunfels earlier this week.

The woman, who is thought to have been in her late 20s, was found Monday just after 3 p.m., near a boat ramp in the 800 block of Park Shores at Canyon Lake, which sits west of New Braunfels.

The body located is believed to be a Caucasian female in her late twenties. She was pronounced dead and an autopsy has been ordered. At the time of this release, the female has not been identified.

I'm not seeing any recent cases from San Antonio that fit the demographics described. It could be someone who hasn't been reported missing yet or someone from somewhere else. What little we have makes this sound like a fairly recent death, but it may not be. We will probably have to wait for more info.

Identified - Kassandra Marie Martin

The Comal County Sheriff's Office has identified a body found at Canyon Lake earlier this week as 26-year-old Kassandra Marie Martin of New Braunfels, TX.

Game Wardens with the Texas Parks and Wildlife located her body partially in the lake near a boat ramp in the 800 block of Park Shores in Canyon Lake Monday afternoon.

Martin was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff's office is continuing to investigate the circumstances of Martin's death.
