Have you seen him? Tyler police searching for 21-year-old man said to be ‘very ill,’ family reportedly says

CLEAR ALERT ISSUED
A CLEAR Alert has been issued for a Tyler man who is “very ill,” according to reports.

The Tyler Police Department said Corbin Stiefer, 21, was last seen on Wednesday in the 5800 block of Briar Creek Drive in Tyler. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans, police said.

Officers said Stiefer is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 108 pounds with short brown hair and a patchy beard. Stiefer is driving a red 2014 Mazda 6 with the license plate number GXB1645, police said.

Anyone with information on Stiefer’s disappearance is urged to call the Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1000.

What is a CLEAR Alert?
The Coordinated Law Enforcement Adult Rescue (CLEAR) Alert program was created by 2019 Texas legislation and is designed to close the gap between missing children and senior citizens.

I dug pretty deep and could find no additional info on FB about the illness or circumstances of his disappearance besides that he allegedly missed an appointment. Family is sharing articles but otherwise tight-lipped. Guessing it's mental health or addiction related (one msm post states that he's missing his medication).

East Texas man reported missing without phone, ID, needed medication

He left home without his phone, ID, and medication.

“We are just baffled at where our son could be,” Corbin’s mother, Carys, said. “My 21-year-old son was headed to an appointment Wednesday morning during the rain and he left our house in south Tyler about 11:40 and I have not seen or heard from him since. He forgot his phone and his ID and his wallet.”

Corbin’s family says this behavior is unusual for him. He has been at home in Tyler since leaving Abilene Christian University in October due to an illness.

I have some issues with "forgot" his phone/wallet/ID. He's 21, I could get forgetting your wallet which has ID in it but a cell phone? What could he have that would cause weight loss, leaving college etc? Crohns maybe? I am worried about this young man. IMO

Could he have long Covid? I'm reading about it causing severe hallucinations and mental instability in some people.

That is what came to my mind.

Friends with his cousin and I just wanted to update, he is actually 5'9. This is a current photo.

Link confirming he has Crohn’s.

Corbin had a doctor’s appointment that day. However, 30 minutes after the appointment was scheduled to begin, his mother learned her son never showed up.

Corbin was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in high school. Darcy said the chronic illness had begun to take a toll on him, but he still was a joy to be around.
