The Dallas Police Department issued a request to the public in hopes of identifying *African American female* murder victim discovered on Monday, Aug. 5 at about 7:40 a.m.

An alert motorist traveling *northbound Interstate 45 at Simpson Stuart* observed her body lying at the bottom of a hill and called police. Homicide detectives determined the unknown female *was shot*. Detectives were unsuccessful in identifying the victim and hope someone will recognize her from the artist drawing or the photo of her tattoo.


The victim is described as an African American female between *30 to 40 years old* *approximately 5’2’’ in height and weighs about 205 pounds.* Detectives have also provided an actual photo of a *tattoo located on the victim’s calf that says, “Sexy Chocolate.”*

Anyone with any information should contact the Dallas Police Department’s Homicide Unit at (214) 671-3584 or Detective David at (214) 671-3627. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can do so by calling Crimestoppers at (214) 373-TIPS (8477). Crimestoppers will pay up to $5000 for information which leads to the arrest and indictment for this felony offense or any other felony offense.

That calf tattoo should surely jog someone's memory: a lot of women down here in Oklahoma and Texas wear shorts 9 months out of the year (at least). More so when they have tattoos to show off.

Identified - Tunesia Lyons, 39

Police arrested a 51-year-old man in the fatal shooting of a woman found dead near Interstate 45 and Simpson Stuart Road in southern Dallas earlier this month (Aug, 2013), according to police records.

Floyd Murray faces a murder charge in the slaying of Tunesia Lyons, 39. He is being held at the Lew Sterrett Justice Center, where his bail is set at $250,000, according to jail records.

According to public records, Murray was previously convicted of murder in a 1987 Dallas County case. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison in that case.

Investigators initially had trouble identifying Lyons and released an artist rendering of her face and a photo of a tattoo on her left calf. Her family saw the sketch and photos and contacted police.

Officers discovered the body of Tunesia Lyons on Aug. 5 at the bottom of a hill at Interstate 45 and Simpson Stuart Road. She had been shot in the face.
