1667694443011.png

Names: Jo Baker, Jeler Baker and/or Jamie Merayo.
Date of Birth: August 19th, 1969
D.L.C: August 6, 1995
Location: Wichita Falls, Texas (~2 hours from UP)
Race: White
Age: 25
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 100lbs
Hair Color: Brown (she may have slightly bleached ends? Or that's what it looks like to me in the photos)
Eye Color: Blue
Physical: heart-shaped tattoo with the name "Tony" imprinted near the design on her abdomen. She is also categorized as disabled, but I'm unsure what disability she has.
Circumstances: Baker was last seen in Wichita Falls, Texas on August 6, 1995, when she dropped her seven-year-old son off with some other members of her family. She has never been heard from again. For unclear reasons, Baker was not reported missing until November 25, three and a half months after her disappearance. Few details are available in her case.

She wasn't reported missing until November? No one had contact with her on her birthday and they didn't report her missing? Odd.

I've submitted this case to the Trans Doe Task Force
Good move. A lot of women and girls will wear jeans and shirts marketed for men or boys, because they like the cut or they're more hard-wearing or comfortable, but I don't think many wear men's underwear. That strikes me as more of a gender expression thing. MOO.

I would suggest that if the information as entered into Namus is correct, then the unidentified person might be significantly smaller than a size 38 waisted jeans indicate. The briefs were said to be size small, 30-32W. They may not have had the resources to wear what would "fit" them, but wore what was available.

I just realized this is a partial skeletal remains case with all clothing mentioned identified as located "near the body".

Maybe... but undergarments tend to have a fair degree of flexibility and stretch to them, and jeans tend to be fairly stiff and rigid (at least until stretch jeans became a thing). I don't see mention of a belt with the clothing items, but then, they only recovered one shoe, so maybe it was not recovered. Maybe the jeans were closer to the right size and the underpants were stretched out?

Also, as a gender nonconforming bod, speaking from personal experience, sometimes you have to choose a size that fits over your hips and butt, even though it's loose at the waist, when you're shopping in the other half of the store. Perhaps our Doe was a bit hippy for the size that fit their waist and had to go up a size or two to be able to get them up. It's a whole thing. It's why a lot of my waistbands have handsewn adjustments.

MOO

Roszan Jean Payne

She went missing only a half hour from Dallas and fits in the post mortem interval and age bracket, any thoughts? The hair is more red than blonde but a lot of people change their hair fairly often..JMO

Tbf, I think this is more likely a petite man who was mistaken for a woman. I wonder if they have DNA to test the actual sex.
