Police are asking for help finding a woman from St. Louis who has been missing in Dallas for more than a week.

Dana Holt, 30, was last seen around 12 p.m. on March 1. She was seen on surveillance video catching a train at Eddie Bernice Johnson Union Station. Her family said they don’t know why Holt traveled to Dallas, or who she could possibly know here.

Does LE have video/pictures of the unknown man? If he was right there and she couldn't leave you'd think they'd see him on the video with her. JMO

Her brother appears to think they have footage of him.

Family Says Missing St. Louis Woman Being Held in Dallas by Unknown Man

.......
Dana Holt, 30, was recorded on surveillance video at Dallas' Eddie Bernice Johnson Union Station at about noon on March 2.

Holt's sister, Audrey Clay, said the family doesn’t know why her sister took an Amtrak train from home the night before or who she would know in Dallas.

"I may not know my sister's intentions, but I know something is seriously wrong because my sister wouldn't just up and leave like that,” Clay said.

After learning about the video, Clay, her wife, and sister-in-law drove through the night from Missouri to look for Holt themselves.
.......
She said the video showed Holt, dressed in dark clothes, leaving the station with bags and a man family and friends don’t know.

Dana apparently was able to make a phone call while he showered. I wonder why she didn't/couldn't leave while he was in bathroom? I hope she's okay and makes it to safety soon. MOO

Is it possible she met him on the internet? I hope the police are checking her computer, cell phone, social media accounts, etc.

Also, why did she call her mum and not 911?

This is a strange one. Her sister posted that her Facebook pages keep getting “activated” which I took to mean that they show she is online.

I just started reading about this case and that was going to be my first question as well. If you only had a moment or two to call for help, logically it would be to 9-1-1 rather than your family. It's likely she was frightened and wasn't thinking clearly, and she didn't think about calling 9-1-1 first.

Earlier in the thread it was mentioned Dana has MH issues of some kind so perhaps those also came into play into this situation. Making a trip like this seems highly unusual according to her family.

In the US, if she is poor or part of a minority group, she also may have been trained not to call the police. Disadvantaged groups often mistrust the police (sometimes not without reason) and thus teach children to call relatives or friends in an emergency rather than 911 or police.

He may have taken her clothes.... but then left a phone laying around? Confusing.

@ErinC that is a good point.

From and emotional viewpoint Dana's first reaction may have been to talk to a familiar voice, resulting in the phone call to her family. From a logic viewpoint, the 9-1-1 call is the best option. Since Dana reportedly has some MH issues to begin with, and with the stressful situation she was in at this time, the emotional reaction of calling family may have outweighed the logical choice.

Hopefully she was able to give her family some information that assists LE to find her.

I think this is likely the case. In one article, family said that the man "wasn't who she thought he was." Potential catfish, or just hiding his true self

“It’s so scary to know that she’s thousands of miles somewhere, and I have no clue where, and I cannot help her,” said Dana’s older sister, Audrey Clay.

“I just feel every day that goes by, it just gets scarier, and I just get more fearful. But I’m not going to find her,” Clay said with tears in her eyes.

She said Dana was last seen on surveillance video at the Eddie Bernice Johnson Union Station in Dallas around noon on March 2. Clay said detectives in Dallas told her a strange man was seen on video approaching Dana after getting off the train.

“He approaches Dana and helps my sister with her bags. Then, they walked to the south end of the platform and go off-camera. That was it. I haven’t seen the footage yet,” Clay said.

Their mom, Deborah Holt, answered a phone call from Dana when she was in Dallas on the 2nd. The mom said Dana sounded scared and was crying.

“She sounded terrified and scared. I was like ‘where are you?’ She was like, ‘Oh my gosh. He’s getting out of the shower. I got to go.’ That was it. I didn’t get to say I love you or anything,” Deborah Holt said.

“[Dana] said, ‘He won’t let me leave. I can’t get any of my stuff,'” Clay added.

Despite the distance to Dallas, Clay got in the car and drove to Dallas along with her grandmother and wife. Once they got there, they went to the train station and started handing out flyers.

“I did everything that we could. We put up flyers everywhere we could think of. I searched woods, ditches, searched strip clubs, all of that for four days,” Clay said.

Coffee Wright, the CEO of St. Louis-based nonprofit Missing Person Task Force, Inc., said the first 48 hours are the most crucial after a person goes missing. She said the family has to go back to Dallas and do as much legwork as possible.

“Parents, family, head back to Dallas. Head back to Dallas and start passing out flyers all over. Cover as much ground as you can. Get as many people as you can to volunteer. You got to be her foot soldiers. Also, go on social media every day, every day, showing people her photos and making people care,” Wright said.

Clay said Dana has a blood condition and suffers from mental illness. She hopes as many people share her sister’s face and story and can help bring her baby sister home.
